no one tells you how much of life takes practice. not just writing, painting, running, singing, etc, but practicing how to make friends. how to make the right ones. getting practiced at how to be a good friend, a good sibling, a good person. practice identifying when people haven’t earned that. learning to recognize your right to rage and, eventually, how to offer mercy. so much of life is muscle memory, and i’ve begun to realize there are so many more parts of ourselves to flex and stretch and strengthen than those we’re taught in anatomy lessons

I want to create things. Do things. Be inspiring. And I thought you are the person I can do it with. But I was totally wrong. You were the one who made me stand still instead of helping me to grow.

I’m sad that you aren’t in my life anymore, but honestly, I feel like I can breathe again. I am my own again. My body is mine. My money is mine. And my mind is mine. I am so much calmer. I am not going crazy over how badly you were treating me. I can breathe again. Thank you for leaving, even if it wasn’t for me.

Fact: Bisexual people are not more likely to cheat or to leave their partners for someone of another gender. However, we are far more likely to be abused by our partners than people of other orientations. Being bisexual does not mean you need to be controlled or that you’re less trustworthy, and it shouldn’t be a point of tension in your relationship.

Fuck every person who has treated me shitty and abused me in the past and kept doing it knowing I’d let them. You don’t control me anymore. You can’t use me anymore. I am my own. I am not yours.

I know you miss them, but you are better off without them.

Hey, it’s okay to love the parts of your abuser that were kind and good. It’s okay to miss those parts. It’s okay to miss or cherish those memories. It doesn’t invalidate your experience as a victim of abuse.
