What the hell happened to the energy around gender neutral bathrooms. Remember when we were fighting for all bathrooms to be gender neutral. But now we can barely argue that people can use the gendered bathroom of their choice. Maybe there's some single stall bathroom tucked away in a basement somewhere.

On the whole I don’t think that lying is a virtue but I do think it is a useful skill that it’s better to be good at than not. I do not think I am especially good at lying but I have been getting a lot of practice when people ask me about my mask. mostly I default to “oh I’m a caretaker for my sick friend/lover/fiance/sister/cousin/mother” but that often gets me terrible medical advice and/or revolting amounts of praise and god bless yous, so sometimes I change it to “oh, it’s in my contract” but occasionally I succumb to the impulse to talk about the mysterious disease my housemates and I have that doctors can’t identify but think must be contagious and have begged me to quarantine but I don’t want to live in fear so I compromise by wearing a mask. No one likes that. No one likes that at all.
