wall hanging for my brother! naturally dyed with cute, osage, madder, and knotweed. first forray into naturally dyeing things in my kitchen, using a combination of dye techniques and modifiers. machine pieced, hand appliqued and quilted; roughly 15” square. excited to do way more of this kind of thing :')

Lowering the goalpost to get a granny square done instead of cranes (ive got like 50 other projects to do this month) for @color-palettes may palette. Incidentally i got a book with a fuckton of granny square patterns. Very coincedental to my choice to do a granny square, i assure you.

there’s two main types. the basic type is just a little circle of rubber that you fold around your needle, and the fancier type is a little rubber cap for your fingertips. they’re very cheap, under five bucks for the fancier kind and less for the basic, and they last forever. you can buy nice ones from your local craft store or steal them from the quilting section walmart idc. if you’re in a pinch (pun intended) and can’t go out, if you have a non-slip mat under a rug, cut off a little corner and that will work decently. please treat your fingers kindly <3

A bit of embroidery I've been working on. I thought this might do well here

I was having writers block and so I took a break and soon enough it was 3 in the morning and I had impulsively sewn together a tiny mouse you’re welcome

This is my own design. I did all the math & figured out how to do my weird ratio of half-rectangle triangles. I made my own foundation paper piecing templates for sections. And I even learned the accursed pen tool in order to make vector templates for the appliqué elements.

Inspiration struck. 🦆
