Politicians can never take your queerness away from you. Trump's inauguration speech may have directly spoken against queer identities, but that can't take away from who you are at your core. You know yourself, you know you're queer, and they can't take that away from you, even if they take everything else. Now isn't the time to despair and give in, it's the time to band together and protect each other. Your queer existence angers them. Continue to exist.

I've got a few ideas for BloodyMary and for rn i think I'm going to stick with just this fandom, and maybe expand to others later on if there's any interest. Here's the Aus and feel free to ask questions or suggest scenarios to put these sad men in.
Reverse Bloodymary ColtlandGentry Au (RBCGAU)
A very scared and confused and hostile Ryland Grace finds himself thrown at the mercy of his next set of interrogators. Except they both look waaaaay too much like him, sound like him, and for a minuet they act far too familiar with him. What kind of new age bullshit torture method is this? The COI did not have nearly enough resources to pull some psychological shit like this. Or... or did they? Either way, he's not saying shit.
Not-So-Meet-Cute (NSMCAU)
A fairly typical au, Simon arrives on the Hail Mary shortly before they meet Rocky. Grace now has to try juggling befriending an alien who shares no language with him, getting Simon to open up or at least stop being actively avoidant, deal with his memory issues, all on top of trying to save the stars. It's not an ideal situation and its not like he didn't already have enough on his plate, but hey, he's happy for the company, even if he is struggling. Oh, and Simon sometimes hears voices in his head, and they only agree on one thing.
It's Raining Bloody Men (IRBMAU)
I'll be considering this the companion to the ColtlandGentry reverse au (Ryland and Simon might not be able to have each other in their own universes but something out there (me) decides they might still be able to get their happy ending), Simon drops in (literally) on one of Graces classes, falling into the biodomes ocean. Oddly enough this stranger seems familiar, but he that's not important. Graces stable life on Erid just got a lot more interesting.
PS: Ryland is going to be showing some Autistic tendencies in each of these AU's, some more than others cause the environment breeds different masks/coping mechanisms. I will be throwing my own flavors of Autism in every now and then.
PPS: Fair warning on IRBMAU I saw art of Ryland wearing Erid clothing and jewelry (Cant find the exact one but blipity.blopity on insta has some great art of it) and it made me think about how maybe he just says "Fuck it, I'm not seeing another human again I might as well do away with a lot of human hang-ups." Also he's autistic so like, Erid silk is really nice sensory wise so why not go native and wear a skirt or some shit, who cares. And now, after years of thriving without a mask in a culture that genuinely doesn't care there's another human and he has to try masking again, with varied results.
For @Sharkfiinn's post about being sick of seeing Bloodymary, but relevant enough for others to need to hear this too:
[CONTEXT]: A post from @Sharkfiinn about being frustrated about Bloodymary taking over the PHM tags - a frustration that is valid and 100% understandable. HOWEVER, in a stunning display of irony, some of the commenters immediately tried to frame the Bloodymary fans as racist and "Anti-black" for not shipping "the only black character" with "the only asian character" (actual words used. They have names, but who cares, right)...and using that as their deflecting argument.
When I, a Black fan, politely expressed my discomfort with this very bad faith approach, I was immediately blocked by the artist.
---
It's...a peculiar feeling, being blocked by (white) fans for being Black and having an opinion. Especially by an artist I admired.
Especially when that opinion was essentially "please refrain from using Black People (like me) as an excuse/scapegoat/talking point to win dumb fan arguments that have NOTHING TO DO WITH US." Because it is deeply uncomfortable and robs us of any thought or voice we might have had on the subject.
(And for quick perspective: I don't care about fan drama. Don't come at me with it. I'm too old and too tired to care about which Ninja Turtle is the coolest, or which one is kissing who in fanart. My daily struggles are rooted in "how to survive an administration that wants me dead for being brown in 2026", not "omg I can't believe you ship them, ew." Like...whatever. I'm just here to enjoy seeing people be creative in something I like, and it's one of the few escapes that I have from the horrors I face on the regular. Truly, thank you all for existing and bringing light to my day.
However, I felt the need to put this quick PSA together not just for everybody else, but also for some of my mutuals, as a general heads-up to avoid doing this particular thing by accident. This isn't an angry rant designed to attack anyone - we don't do that here. This is more of a...mildly disappointed but relatively-pensive and informational FYI.)
But if y'all want to talk about Anti-Blackness, and do it seriously, then you need to LISTEN to Black People when they try to tell you what's up. You need to ASK before you speak for someone that you do not know. You need to really THINK before you try to use us to win an argument. And you need to STOP BLOCKING us the minute we make our presence known and/or so much as breathe a huff of disagreement with something you've said.
I'm a person, not a game piece.
We are not a hot take.
We are not a statistic.
We are not a political talking-point.
Anti-blackness in fandom is NOT: seeing a character of color not be present, or drawn correctly, in fan-art. Well, it is a little bit, but that's not the main problem that we're having. That's like, so far down on the list of nonsense we have to deal with that it's not even worth going into here.
Anti-Blackness IS: Black Voices and Creators getting shut down or shut out entirely from the fan-space for being Black. Also, white fans indirectly using us against other white fans, or anyone else they deem as "opposition" to whatever argument they're trying to make, to shut them down, too.
(Literally got blocked on-sight last week the moment I mentioned being non-white in conversation with a white fan. A fan that, btw, tried to say they were speaking "for" me...against another fan they called racist for drawing their favorite characters in a style that they did not like. Black people, unsurprisingly, had nothing to do with this, the art, the artist, or the conversation whatsoever. ...Don't ask me, I still don't get it.)
Now, I believe that a good deal of these fans are genuine and really think that they're helping when they speak for us, and don't mean to drown us out in conversation; but then, there are people like this one, who are just low-key malicious about it. The result is that the Black fans end up never revealing themselves, or just lurk in the shadows forever because we do not feel safe interacting with you all. The more you talk over us, the more you silence us, until no one wants to speak, because it isn't worth the hassle, the drama, risk of being blocked, or the ostracization.
And it is insane to me that you, @Sharkfiinn, and these commenters that proudly purport to be just SO pro-black, and SO inclusive, would immediately shut down the only Black voice in the room for the crime of gently telling you "no".
--
tl;dr Non-black fans, please leave Black people out your mouth unless it's relevant or we say it's okay. If you're not sure about something being offensive, just ask. BE RESPECTFUL, obviously, but still ask.
--
Tl;dr #2: Never thought I'd ever have to write something like this. Not mad about it. Not surprised. Just disappointed.

Got one of the bots removed from tumblr, no clue how long until they make a new one but I recommend others report every one you find.
I reported them by going to Report Something Else, scrolling to the Spam option and filling in the information about what they were doing which the normal span report option doesn't let you do.
Example report below, using stolen work from Smol-ghosts (amazing bloodymary artist btw) to try and redirect people offside to porn and gambling sites.
Because Simon is still losing, and I do not have motion on there like you do, could you please spread the message to TikTok? I think it might help! Also I’m genuinely tweaking and don’t think I’ll make it if he loses
I WISH I HAD TIME TO DRAW FOR THIS BUT I DID A QUICK POST TO TRY AND GET PEOPLE TO HELP OUR CAUSE!!

In past years I posted excerpts from the Declaration of Independence on July 4. But I’m not feeling it this year.
I am old enough to remember the Bicentennial observations in 1976. There were celebrations and commemorative events around the country, not just in Washington. Most notable was the flotilla of tall ships sailing into New York’s harbor. There were historical programs, “Bicentennial minutes” on TV, and decorations on local public buildings and fixtures, right down to red-white-and-blue fire hydrants. At noon on July 4 we went out on the streets and rang bells.
The mood of the country is different now. There are fewer events for America’s 250th birthday and the crowds are smaller.
That’s not to say things were better in the United States 50 years ago. The divisions of the Vietnam War years had not healed. There were plenty of people who thought that some Americans should be second-class citizens based on the color of their skin or their gender. Gay, lesbian, and bisexual people could rarely live their lives publicly. Transsexuals (the term used at the time) were even more oppressed.
But in some important ways things are worse today. There are many who maintain that some Americans shouldn’t be Americans at all, based on where their ancestors came from, how they speak, or how they worship. The gains that racial minorities, women, and LGBT people have made since 1976 are uncertain and under threat. And there are still those who think their wealth buys them more privileges than everyone else.
When I quote from the Declaration, I have to omit the slur against the so-called savage Indians, which decries their cruelty in warfare, when in fact everyone is cruel in war. And I have to talk around the fact that many of the men who signed it were slaveholders and the rest condoned slavery. When they said that all men are created equal, they really meant free white men, primarily landowners. But they used broad, general terms for their stirring rhetoric. Later generations found inspiration in what they wrote that went beyond what they really thought at the time.
So this year I am quoting from a later and much shorter document, the Pledge of Allegiance. Its last line, “with liberty and justice for all,” has never been a true description of what we actually have in America. But it is a plainly stated, unqualified goal that we should strive for.
This Independence Day, I call you to join me in opposing anyone who wants to make liberty and justice available only to some.
Anybody who follows bloodymary or phm tags, be warned there's an account who reposts other people's comics and puts porn links in the first/prev/next buttons
The account is avalilihub and I recommend reporting and blocking so you don't get their posts on your dash
A feminism comic I did for my uni’s newspaper. I wish I had a bit more time to work on it, but I’m pleased with how it came out considering the tight deadline!

poor things, well we should definitely make this easier on them by never repeatedly mentioning their name and deeds on the "reblog things forever" website
