Iâve decided to stop pretending to be moderate. If you think you can use someoneâs kinks to predict whether theyâre a sexual predator, I think you, the person making the predictions, are an active danger and should not be trusted.

It appears this Black Rose arc is about a power hungry group convincing a bunch of suckers that they should blame all their personal problems on the nearest brown woman. This is much like following US politics
i feel like im not a completely stupid person and able to do "media literacy" to some degree. so it does seem evident that "witch hat atelier"'s story revolves around realizing that everyone has the capacity for art and that by cordoning it off to a privileged class and teaching it in only one specific way, the entire field suffers from stagnation and a lack of novel ideas. coco's presence in the field invigorates it and causes it to lurch forward in technique and utility. and i also understand what a plot hook is, and that something things need to happen to move the plot along or create stakes for a story.
but still. but still. its so funny that coco was so bad at art her mom basically died
similarly, my husband was like "what is agott's problem. why is she acting like this" and i had to explain it like. imagine, since the moment you were born, you dedicated yourself to art. your parents were artists and expect great things from you, so when your childhood revolved around art, everyone embraced it and pushed you forward in the hopes that you would surpass them. you draw every single day. you skip meals to study and draw. your body is permanently altered with stained fingertips because of how often you draw. you work yourself to the bone to understand the principles, the history, the intricacies of art so that you might be considered a true master of that which you adore. you get into one of, if not the, most prestigious art school of all time after years of grinding. but its not enough, you can see you have so much more to learn and the field is so vast you worry you may never master it. and then the next day some girl who blew up her mom in a drawing incident shows up at the school and everyone coos over her lopsided circles. and she's your roommate
nothing is more tumblr than having a tumblr sexyman wiki and then warn you to not find some of those men sexy because it's problematic

Throwback to the time I was on mega pain killers after surgery and my back didn't hurt. Of course I have had pain so long my brain didn't know how to interpret a lack of pain, so it came to the reasonable conclusion that my back didn't exist any more. Legit felt like the whole thing was missing.
Society has moved past the need for having a back đ
That is still absolutely wild tho. Your brain was like what is having a back like. Is it constant pain.

i slept for 8 hours but i still need to say one more thing about david cage: the unbelievable arrogance of him saying detroit human is the game that "proved games didn't have to be about killing people" is that his idea of killing people 'but morally complex' is that he invents a scenario in which killing that person is obviously, obviously wrong but then rigs the situation through a qte and/or missing and misleading information, so that he can reveal their hidden "depth" afterwards and tut-tut shame you if you did kill them (or like, the qte did because you didn't know what to pick lol). and even then, if you kill someone it literally never matters in the end anyway. and that's not how you set up your players to think about a difficult ethical question, it's how you make them reload an earlier save to make the obvious only good choice now that they finally have all the info. IF they're trying for a perfect good score anyway- that's the other dumb presumption he makes.
like, that chapter where you investigate a customer getting killed at an android sex club, when you find the one who did it, she and a second bot attack you first. there's a drawn out fight scene where they don't pull any punches and you finally get prompted in a qte to shoot or spare the one attacking you, as she's lunging at you. that's the deep morally grey decision lol. which you have to make in 2 seconds. and ofc, if you don't shoot, she reveals to you that it was all self defense against a violent customer and that they are in love and hate being rented for sex and just want to be free together. how evil you'd have been if you shot this poor couple ): (sidenote: he used this exact same backstory for the male main character's love interest in the same game because that's one of the 3 plots he has for female characters)
meanwhile if you fail this fight and they beat your ass, they will also explain the same motives, and you get the option to shoot them in the back afterwards. and that's still a hilariously simple good vs evil moral decision but at the very least you can actually make this one with all the information given to you, and no cagesque "your attacker was actually innocent and justified đ„șđ„ș" reveal that comes afterwards to pretend like the decision was actually complex at all. heavy rain pulled it equally stupidly, where you also play a cop and you and your partner break into an innocent man's home, harass and assault him, and then you must answer the difficult question of whether it's justified to shoot him dead for trying to defend himself against the violent home invaders that you are. once again in a qte where he appears to be maybe, possibly preparing an attack- which ofc is revealed afterwards to not actually be the case. murdering that guy has absolutely no influence on the rest of the game either way. that's just how subtle and complex it is.
anyway back to detroit: in the cop bot's chapter 'last chance', he must figure out where the android resistance is hidden within a time limit or he's game over. if you shot those two at the club, their damaged bodies will be on display at the police station, one dead, one barely functioning. among other ways to solve the puzzle, you now have the option to yank out and puppeteer the dead one's head to her distressed and barely conscious girlfriend to trick her into revealing the location. he'll then drop the head on the floor and kill her as she's freaking out about it. this won't move you towards a bad ending or lock you out of a good ending about how androids deserve human rights (and neither does shooting them in the first place- even if you did it after hearing their story). because complex morality and subtle themes and stuff. like, are they or aren't they people, david?

Back before ivermectin, there was some other medicine people thought was a COVID cure. I forget what. It treated some condition X, and the people who had condition X couldnât get it because everyone was using it for COVID.
This one pharmacist posted on Tumblr about trying to ration the last few pills he had left. He said heâd given one dose to a COVID patient who was clearly going to die without it, because he wanted to at least try to save them. Then a certain romance novelist I used to respect sicced her followers on him, and they spammed him with messages saying he hated people with condition X and wanted them all to die. I think about that every time someone says this guy or that guy deserves Internet harassment this time.
Beyond his art, Neal Adams is rightfully remembered as an eternal champion of creatorsâ rights and for the part he & his work played in the Comics Code revision of â71 but his contribution to John Stewartâs creation is â I think â a rather underrated aspect of his career, especially as itâs such a great reminder of the kind of person he was. Taken from an interview conducted and transcribed by Allen W. Wright over at the Green Arrow: Bold Archer fansite, hereâs Neal discussing Johnâs beginnings (x).
