Rewatching Station 11 knowing Miranda's backstory adds so much to it. She wrote a graphic novel about someone who loses everything and is stuck in their trauma because she lost her whole family in her own localized apocalypse (and her being a poor Black woman in the Caribbean experiencing the destructive effects of climate change maps onto how people of color outside the imperial core experience 'the apocalypse' while privileged white Westerners imagine it). But she managed to live a relatively normal life by pouring all her trauma into her comic, and Kirsten and Tyler both become obsessed with it but aren't able to find that same balance within themselves.
