Left Shows Power in Peru First Round
By Ronald J. Morgan Peru’s Left has squeezed into the second round of the 2026 elections race. Leftist Roberto Sánchez 57, of Juntos Para Peru, will face off against Rightist Keiko Fujimori, 51. Fujimori obtained 17.181 percent for a total of 2,877,678 votes. Sánchez followed with 12.031 percent or 2,015,114 votes.
