what’s funny is that ppl are tagging their ships and i have no idea what most of them are

I really do not like the idea of “withholding sex” as a type of abuse. Like I can understand that there can be abusive behaviors around having sex and consent, but “withholding sex” makes it sound like the person is owed sex, and that saying no to sex is abusive, and that just seems very sketchy to me, plus I can absolutely see it being misused to coerce unwilling people into having sex or otherwise they’re abusive for not consenting

Yeah I agree that there’s a lot of gray area around it. And I think it’s important to emphasize that you’re not being abused just because your partner won’t have sex with you whenever you want. I just wish that we could call it something besides “withholding sex” because that makes it sound like they’re owed sex and I feel like it’s a concept that could easily be misunderstood and abused.

maybe call it “withholding physical intimacy”? since that’s what it’s really about in the context of abusive behavior. And I do feel like the broad idea of physical intimacy is something that you have a right to receive, when in a romantic relationship at least. (or else what’s the point?) like idk I can’t imagine “I’ll cuddle and kiss u all u like but no sexy times” as an abuse tactic, yanno?
