ducktales is out here giving us family dynamics not typically represented that often in media, such as single parents, grandparents raising their grandchildren, uncles raising their nephews, and some peoples’ only responses are “okay but where’s the boys’ father? where’s webby’s parents?” like, come on now. acting like a family isn’t complete or ‘normal’ if it’s not a mother and a father with their child, if it’s a single mother raising children, if it’s an uncle raising his nephews, a granny raising her granddaughter. it’s pretty tiring to see honestly– ducktales gives us something so unique and so against the norms of society’s ideal view of what a family is and some people are just waiting until it becomes a typical show about nuclear families. have you just completely missed the point of what the show aims to represent, or…?
