Everyone was hyped for Pottermore, and then it turned out to be pretty boring. The rest was a slow walkthrough of the books that everyone who was there had already read. There is a reason why it no longer exists.

Everyone was hyped for The Cursed Child, and then it turned out to just be completely nonsensical, OOC-ridden fanfiction. I don't think I even need to elaborate on this point.

Are there queers who send death threats? There totally are! Are there many of them, as a proportion of the community? No. You can know hundreds of queer people and get zero death threats about things.

Are there neo-Nazis who want those who oppose them dead or in camps? Yes! Are there neo-Nazis who don't want that? No. Because that's foundational to their ideology.

I do grant that there exist people who are queer and also violent nutjobs, but I really do think that the distinction between "a group maybe 1% of whom are being assholes on the internet, and at most 1% of those are actually willing to take it further" and "a group whose foundational ideology is the destruction of various other groups".

Consider (1) how many queers there are (2) how many neo-Nazis there are. Next, consider (1) how many people have been subject to actual physical violence over playing that game, and (2) how many people were subject to actual physical violence by neo-Nazis for being queer or not-white or something during that same time period.

You'll note that there are many more queers, but the actual amount of violence produced by them, even in absolute terms, is way lower.

The level of violence by queers against people who are not at all threatening them is... Basically the same as or possibly lower than the background level of "humans are just violent sometimes". The level of violence by queers against people who are indirectly supporting people who literally want them dead might be higher, but it's not much higher. It's not until you get to people actively promoting eliminationist philosophies or social policy that you start seeing a noticeable level of actual violence.

From where they currently stand, there is no path where burning more Target® department stores down somehow gets them reduced police violence.

For violence to be effective, one must have a solution that can be implemented in the first place. Violence cannot implement a solution that does not exist.

One can attribute the nation-wide increase in homicide to a nation-wide wildcat police strike, but if police refusing to do their jobs increases the homicide rate, this implies that police actually do reduce homicide - and since so many of the victims are not "white" or "white-adjacent," not just for "white" people.

So just flat "defund the police" is out. If social programs are supposed to pick up the slack, then which social programs are to be used needs to be known beforehand, because if the social programs don't work, then that's just letting criminals prey on the weak and unwary.
