Efficiency gains can lower resource footprints, for example, if they manage to improve their closed circuit cooling for data centers, it can drastically reduce the amount of water used to cool them, hell, we see this in nuclear plants, fuel usage is becoming more and more efficient, and that means waste is reduced, while more energy is produced.
