My advice on that thread still stands: if you find yourself distressed, upset, furious with people online, speaking poorly of people who write things you don’t like — it’s time to log off. Really. Turn off your phone or laptop and go take a walk. Come back when you’re feeling calmer. If you continue in that spiral of frustration, it will become a cycle that’s hard to break out of.

I think that person was extremely frustrated with the tagging system, and as I said, it’s more of a them problem than an ao3 problem.

I wonder how much of that has to do with the lack of algorithm that younger audiences simply aren’t used to. Nothing is suggested on ao3, you have to find it yourself. You have to bookmark or save certain tags and build a series of searches you like. Depending on how specific your wants are, that could take some effort. Not a lot, but some!

There was someone in the reblogs that offered to sift through that person’s complaints and do the search for them to prove it didn’t need to be so hard. It actually ended up being pretty straightforward, which showed that their issues with inserts / OC’s really felt more like they didn’t ever want to see a single story like that when they search, rather than accepting that it’s much more rare than they claimed and that no tagging system will ever be right 100% of the time.

He then spends every meeting with poor Brucie Wayne imagining more and more gruesome ways he will one day wipe that fool from the face of the planet.

If he can get Batman on his side maybe he'll use WE to supply him. It would probably be a good incentive to continue working with him once the Superman problems been dealt with.

(Every time Bats doesn't accept his offer he spends at least a week attempting to come up with his own plan to off him, for some reason they never quite work out)

I love this because it kind of subverts the fandom trope of Bruce/Clark working with each other to find Batman/Superman.

Lex reluctantly recruits Brucie Wayne to help him find the Batman and convince him to join his fight against Superman.

Meanwhile, Batman (as Brucie) is right at Lex’s table, kicking his wingtips up and complaining loudly about Lex’s “stupid” plans.
