I didn't have a first album, but I got a pile all at once. The prize of the bunch was The Nightmare Before Christmas on a two-step vinyl. I loved that.
Eventually, I lived in a situation where I couldn't keep my record player or the records, so I gave them to my best friend to enjoy and "hold for me". We had a miscommunication and he'd given it all away over the years by the time I was ready to have them again. Things happen.
Point is, I remember both. Don't be pretentious.
