Waking Life is a festival set around a small lake in Crato, Portugal. For over 3 weeks I helped set up the Forest Stage with La Fumisterie. Work included a bit of welding, some light creations and a lot of fabric gluing!

  After meeting La Fumisterie and their amazing metal artwork in my hometown in the 2017 edition of Agitágueda Festival [where I played at their walkabout performance], it was great to join them again! For 3 weeks we lived & worked by the lake and it was a wonderful experience to be part of the festival building up while getting to know all the amazing people that make it happen. 💜

  In the last few years, Boomland has become a home to me… living & working there is like being part of a powerful collective energy connecting people through creativity, love & freedom. It is always such a blessing to grow around this place and beings… every day learning something new or meeting someone we haven’t before… discovering a world of possibilities and transforming realities all together 💜

    This year I stayed for about 2 months with the Chill Out Gardens “fortissima” team developing creative lighting. We set up hundreds of illumination points spread around the beautiful gardens upcycling a lot of materials from previous editions and transforming them into new light creations and decoration.

    I worked closely with two collections from which I crafted dozens!

The Drop and Tippy come from the same plywood curved pieces, for the Tippy model, we wet them and applied pressure to straighten them back again. Both models are assembled by wire and use jute natural burlap, on the Tippy model we painted some patterns with stamps done out of some used foam. The Drop also uses wire mesh and brown paper bags that have been collected from staff meals over the building up months.

    I helped set up electric circuits in the lamps and placing them. I also helped with painting, screwing it, digging a few holes, arranging electric details in the garden and “walked the dog” which meant guiding with a rope, a massive trunk of a tree being driven by a tractor, between the delicate garden pieces. 🙂

    I was so absorbed by all the experience that I didn’t do many pictures of our work, so collected a few from friends and the web… all are credited in the photo’s name ❤ Thank you all ❤

One more time the Intendente square got filled with joy and laughter. The second edition of the Lisbon Busking Festival ” Chapéus na Rua” happened on the 15, 16 & 17th of September and brought art, performances and workshops to the streets.

Tree people were one of my recurrent drawing themes as a teenager and they’ve came to visit me recently.

While my mobile home has been resting from this year’s journeys and what seemed like an unexpected seasonal hayfever, I’ve been back on taking lines for walks and getting lost with them.

Here’s a series of sketches from my current book soon to be mutated into digital realms and made available for your likes, if you’d like it, let me know, taking orders now for that time of the year 😉

I feel truly blessed for doing what I love, surrounded by beautiful environments, meeting such inspirational human beings and keeping a strong connection with all others [plants, lizards, dragon flies, grasshoppers…]. BEing myself really comes easy when all around me is nature, art & love… syncing happens so effortlessly it feels like magic!

I wish to thank all the amazing beings who crossed my ways and made my days in the beautiful land of Boom throughout the three weeks I breathed, lived & created there. It was a humbling experience to meet you all, share laughs, dances and co-create a festival so filled with ♥ You’re truly an inspiration to create art ♥ nature and I look forward to see these seeds bloom in the future!
