Rewatched “Lover’s Walk” last night and noticed Spike say something really interesting
He says “I haven’t had a woman in weeks” meaning he hasn’t fed on a woman in weeks, besides the shopkeeper
You wanna tell me Spike was so heartbroken by Drusila dumping him, he didn’t feed for weeks?? Or only fed on men? Or is it because he was either drinking himself to the state of obliviousness and other time he was traveling all the way from Brazil to California? But then again, it’s weeks he’s talking about and that’s a long time
So, if we take his words for what they may mean, Spike is the kind of vampire that can go on weeks without killing and weeks without feeding on humans purely because he is depressed and in the state of despair?
Now it isn’t so hard to believe he wouldn’t kill and feed on humans for Buffy, is it? Even without his chip, if he had a strong enough motivation…
