more seriously though, I think an Article V convention is recognized as the WMD that it is by all parties, which is why we've only seen a few efforts here and there to convene one.

Political operators in all their forms are part of an old game with established rules and processes, and an Article V convention is so vaguely defined by the Constitution that there's an infinite number of ways such a process could go off the rails...

...which means there's no guarantee your "team" would retain effective control of the process, because there is no process. There's also no boundaries. Hell, the entire Constitution could be replaced.

Admittedly this could work out badly for everyone. There's no guarantee the process would be sane, let alone fair. So I'm not very optimistic about such a theoretical event.

But like I was saying, boy wouldn't it be a spectacle. The memes would be insane I'm sure. It would be an exceptionally interesting time.
