Watching Spike at Buffy's party in Older and Far Away and thinking about when characters act all nympho because it's easier to act like you just want sex instead of love or attention. Spike's skulking about and pestering her like he's desperate for a quick shag under the stairs and like I'm sure he genuinely is lol and wants a shot of the electric back massager BUT I think bigger picture he'd just looove her to like acknowledge their situation even in the shadowy vicinity of others. Like it'd make it so much more real for him. Sneaking around is hot and all but I feel like he's also playing up sex crazed machismo in this ep because he wants to matter and get attention and properly exist in her life. He does this in general in s6 of course to get intimacy and I think that's also interesting in terms of how things sadly culminate in this season

Omg this episode is actually making me soooo sad ahhh it's so sad when dirty little secret characters want to be normal so much. Spike popping over with beer, bringing his moral support friend Clem lol, and trying to pick up Buffy's hands in the hallway then playing cards with her on the floor etc. Ohhhhhh ouchhhh :(
