This has been said many times before by other people but I'm throwing my hat in the ring. The most important part about Dark Willow is that she's cringe. This is basically her Shadowclan Warrior Cats oc being played out here. It's another mask, another costume, another part she feels compelled to play. She has her all black outfit and black box dye hair and black eyes and veins and she's trying to think of the most edgy and evilest things she could think of, but because it's Willow it comes off as forced and dorky. The thing is, you can't really laugh in the moment because she's still got the credentials to back her up. She tore down the Magic Box with her friends still inside of it. She flayed a man alive. She was legitimately about to start the apocalypse and would've succeeded had Xander not stopped her. She has the power, she is capable of harm on an inconceivable scale, but she is also the living embodiment of Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace right now because that's what she thinks evil looks like. She cannot imagine evil ever looking like her, so she dresses up and refers to Willow as someone who isn't her because she cannot fathom ever perceiving her real, true self as someone who is capable of being bad. It's just so delightful to me
