A concentration camp is a restricted area where a group, ususally an ethnic group, are forced to live on threat of torture or death while giving their oppressors plausible deniability to the rest of the world.

"They have such nice things!" they said, while most of us lived in homes with no floor or electricity and only the lucky had any modern conveniences. "They have schools and get married!" they said, while never showing the rest of the world the decrepit schools or talking about the secret weddings that would be disrupted with white men with guns if they were held in the open.

Like this. And it’s beautiful. It’s beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because he’s presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.

My stepmother did NOT like the way her Libertarian Viking Neighbor framed pregnancy as the fetus "attacking the woman". She incredulously told him this was extremely disrespectful to expectant mothers to portray pregnancy as so violent and negative.

Libertarian Viking Neighbor's response was that people consensually hurt each other all the time, and "there's like a whole community about that, with the acronym the one that starts with a B" And his reasoning was that if the mother was consenting to bring attacked by the baby, it in fact wasn't violent and negative because there was consent.
