I have made a little disability pride flag calendar out of audio fiction to celebrate. This is the first of three. Yep yep yep, with some help I've found enough pods to release three of these through July, isn't that exciting? Plus templates if you want to build your own or play BINGO

I caught up with the first three episodes of S2 recently and I’m having a GREAT time. I made some notes in my notes app while I was listening that aren’t very comprehensive, but my favourites are “the ddaaanncceee!!!” and “have a kipper and maybe then you’ll calm down.”
I also thoroughly enjoyed that scene with Sawbones and Acaster. I had the absolute joy of being in that recording session, and Mike and Rhys are both so fantastically talented but also absolutely terrible (affectionate). The way they riff off each other is so fun and I get the feeling there’s plenty more of that to look forward to this season.
The Twelvelms Conspiracy @twelvelms
Oooooh this show is the absolute highlight of my month and god did this episode come with intrigue. I am VERY worried about our favourite Tortured Boy, but at least glad to get confirmation that he’s still out there. Also I’ll be thinking about that forehead touch all month. Just so you know.
I have some THEORIES about what’s happening but I’m gonna keep 🤐 in case I’m so wrong it’s embarrassing.
I also started giggling to myself at one point in the midst of this very serious and emotional episode, and in my notes app I’ve just written “cyan? I hardly know ‘im!” as an explanation.
Dominus @dominuspod
I know I’m late to this but my GOD this pilot was everything it was promised to be. Anyone who’s listened to any Tell No Tales knows I’m WEAK for a bit of Catholicism in my storytelling, so I was predisposed to enjoy this, but it still managed to surpass expectations. The voice acting is phenomenal (I did actually get a bit jumpscared by some of the voices, for reasons that ranged from ‘hey that’s my friend!’ to ‘hey that’s… disco Elysium??”, but everyone’s so talented that it didn’t bring me out of the story for long) and the soundscaping is gorgeous and eerie.
I somehow completely missed the crowdfund for this, which I’m kicking myself about, but I’ll be following along eagerly with the rest of the season.

I am now casting for my audio drama, The Weavers! There are 9 roles available, all of them paid.
The Weavers are not your usual crafters. These people belong to a secret international order that uses their mystical crafting abilities to fight supernatural evil. Listen as this Minnesotan branch of Weavers battle a rising force that could blanket the world in darkness. The Weavers is a supernatural action audio drama with a Minnesota twist.
This casting call is for all of season 1. There are 9 roles available: 5 main characters, and 4 minor characters. Each character has their own tab in this document, with description and lines.
This is a paid production, personally funded by me, and I am paying what I am able.
Instructions, roles, and lines are on this Google Doc.

Aksakallı dede is a bit of a myth that has no specific roots. As it is in most Asian cultures, old people are known for their wisdom, think of the hermit card from Rider–Waite tarot deck. He is an ageless, ancient, all knowing wise man that will guide you in your journey.
In Turkish media, he usually is an elder guy that appears in your dreams and gives you fortune game answers like lottery letters, horse name for horse racing, football (or soccer) betting scores, etc.
I think one of the most notable aksakallı dede in Turkish media is from the most famous Turkish sitcom, Leyla ile Mecnun (a modern retelling of Layla and Majnun). He is played by Köksal Engür (may he rest in peace) and when you try to look pictures of aksakallı dede, he is the one who appears the most.
To play a legend, you'd need another legend. If @bullshotuk was Turkish, he would already be cast as Aksakallı Dede in many shows, so he was the very obvious choice for the character.
Oh! I realized I haven't added the facts about the wrestling!
Oil wrestling is a real thing that happens here. One of my (not first) uncles is an ex-wrestler in that category. If my memory serves me right, it was only when Turks conquered Anatolia and Rumelia that they have started to do this as a "national" sport. "Wrestler(s)" are called "pehlivan(lar)" and they go into the field called "er meydanı" (male arena) to wrestle together. They wear kispet (the very tight leather shorts/capris?) and they oil their bodies.
The reason why I have chosen oil wrestling as the "dream" is because the sport itself is very.... physical. Your body is literally lubricated with oil and you're trying to pin down your opponent. If you search for pictures, you might see men groping each other's asses inside of the kispet as that place might not be that well oiled up, hence, you'll have a better grip. This is one of the most masculine / heteronormative sports here as it gets as it proves your strength over another man.
I do believe there's inherent homoeroticism to the sport itself but that might be because I'm queer and everything to me is inherently homoerotic. I also believe that more bears should get into oil wrestling and also let me watch them oil wrestle each other. Send this to all the bears you know, beg them to start oil wrestling. This is the impact I want this episode to have
