With under two weeks left in our Season 3 Kickstarter, we have just over $1600 to raise to make it to a greenlight for season 3! Pre-production continues apace--in fact, tonight we are reading the final batch of scripts with a small group of our main cast--with the hopes that we can pull the trigger on setting recording dates the second we make our goal (we have the studio on standby for reservation and cast emails drafted and ready to go as I type this), and get the season in your ears as soon as possible - but we'll need your help to get there. I finished my binge of @224bbaker Fawx & Stallion! Oh man season 2 was the sort of writing you'd expect to be saved for the final season of a show, with the heartfelt performances and earnest character arcs. I did a little dance each time there was a quote directly from the Holmes & Watson stories, which meant LOTS of dancing during That One Montage (if you know you know...). The highlight for me was all the blatant parallels set up between Holmes and Fawx, as well as for the relationships of Holmes/Watson and Madge & Hampton. Something something overlapping experiences with different kinds of queer people, solidarity and learning from each other, etc. etc.
My biggest regret is NOT knowing the context of the Two Two Fun B Merriment Park and Memorial map and stickers at the booth at TAFcon when I was there, because everything about that dumbass park had me in STITCHES.
I also started Shelterwood and got a few episodes in; having learned more about the craft of audio dramas makes the whole "podcast within a podcast" idea extra clever.
I started more audiobooks this week which is slowing my podcast binging, but will try to keep these going~

I had a week off work this week so had fewer motorway trips to fill with audio drama! Here’s all the good stuff I did listen to!
👻 @tellnotalespod (S2E25) what an amazing end to season two of my favourite ghostly audio drama! 💜 I thought the balance of tension and hope was just perfect for a finale. Riley’s anger was so palpable, but so was the pure joy and excitement at the thought of being able to actually move on spirits now, and, of course, Julia is going to make sure that everyone gets that opportunity- what a woman!! I’m so, so excited for season three, especially if we’re going to be revisiting old ghosts! LISTEN TO TELL NO TALES!
👩🏾❤️👨🏻 Life With LEO(h) by @atypicalartists (1.05 - 2.04) Oh my GOD what an end to that first season. I understand that it had to happen but . . . like . . . couldn’t they just be happy?!! I was SO sure that there were rainbows and unicorns on the horizon for those two at the end of season one! However, without that messy ending, we couldn’t have had all the cake-based jibes in season two (which I loved). I don’t want this show to end!
⚓️ @eelerschoice (10) I’m ready to throw actual fists at some elvercatchers. Leave that baby eel alone, you bastards!!!!! It seems like Nama has nothing to worry about when it comes to storm calling - unless the skill of chatting to the eels is something different! I really enjoyed the musical interlude at the end of this episode!
🦭 @twelvelms (11) I couldn’t help myself, I listened to Twelvelms again! I also had a realllllyy good chat with a fellow fan (get your besties into your fave shows, guys, it’s so fun) and we’re in agreement that Abagnale might not be THE big bad, but that he might have been involved in keeping the bird and studying the limits of familiar magic. I don’t think he’s causing the hollow sleepers, but I DO think that his nudges on the chess board might be helping it happen. Thanks to me liking hundreds of videos of Neil the Seal, my instagram is all just seals now and I think of that head bump every time!! I would honestly want everyone to listen to his show but especially first time audio drama creators. It’s such a testament to what can be achieved with a super strong story and well-considered background sound effects. Have I mentioned that I love it?
🔎 My beloved Travelling Light had a @224bbaker feed drop this week and I couldn’t resist listening to that insane opening scene again. It’s sooooo good! The lovely, lovely people who make F&S are crowdfunding at the moment. Pleeaaase give them your hard earned cash, I need season three like I need air!!

I do not have a particularly fun week planned next week, but I’m hoping for lots of lovely audio drama to help get me though! 💪
