one thing that really sucks about chronic pain and chronic fatigue and just being chronically ill in general is how it affects your mood and mental health and not just your physical health
not being able to work is depressing because we live in a society where most things cost money, not being able to go out or see your friends as often because of low energy is depressing because you feel isolated from everything (especially if you’re 100% housebound, which i am extremely grateful that i’m still well enough to leave the house once a day), and just being tired and in pain 24/7 just makes you irritable and moody all the time
i’ve lowkey been in a grumpy mood lately because i’ve been in a lot of pain lately and i’m running on 10% battery most of the time, so i lash out at people when i don’t always mean to, and on top of that extreme brain fog making you forget a lot of things or making you have poor judgement
but i don’t like explaining these things to people because they will say i’m just complaining or making excuses to be a bitch, or that i’m saying i forget things to avoid accountability
people don’t realize that chronic illnesses don’t just affect your physical health, but they fuck up your mental health too
(i am diagnosed with fibromyalgia and i possibly have ME/CFS)
