So it occurred to me that ‘grawlix’ is sort of an obscure and specialized word, but what I didn’t know until I was googling around just now is that it was actually invented by cartoonist Mort Walker in his 1980 book The Lexicon of Comicana, in which he categorizes (and invents terminology for) all kinds of visual cues and shorthand commonly used in comics

Inspired by last ask, here's some Ancients in modern clothes!

Cactus would have some cute overalls, reflecting his childness. Also they get embroidered flowers as a plus. This is the only thing they wear out of the pot.

Courier would like comfy clothes to chill in. Of course he would own a hoodie with sweatpants. He would just throw someting on off duty.

Catarzan is a tricky one. Jeans with rips and a spunky vest to show off a rowdy side. His neon hair is tied up in an unbrushed ponytail.

Exorcist gets fancy clothes to represent a dark missionary. A trenchcoat, tie and hat makes Exorcist look intelligent and eerie.

Being a joyless shitbeast to kids isn’t cool. They’re kids. If you want to be Oscar the Grouch, that’s fine, but do it in a way they understand and explain it to them.

Stop whatever you are doing and go towards the kids. Greetings with your hands or mouth full, greetings from across the room, without eye contact and without showing excitement to see that child are not enough. And when the child apporaches you and asks you anything, reply no less friendler than a friendly waiter/waitress or flight attendant. Make them feel heard and respected for voicing their opinions, make them feel seen and understood for replying to their utterances with earnest phrases that show that take them serious and validate their feelings.
