   hi, i’m still alive, i’m just suffering a lot with some stuff. my family is here, and as always, they know just the right things to say to throw me into a spiraling bout of depression. and when i’m depressed, i can’t really write fun characters like glorfindel. so, this blog is on a hiatus until they leave, which should be soon but who the fuck knows.

   family is still here, they’re leaving sunday but i’ve got to get this cosplay worked on. i’m still available via tumblr ims and discord, but i won’t be replying to any threads until monday night.

They take him through the paths they walk like gods. Tulukilja leads their small party through the winding forest, deeper and deeper, until they reach a stream. Here she turns and unceremoniously undoes the scarf wrapped around her head to keep her hair out of her eyes.

“Turn around,” she tells Glorfindel, “I must put this onto your eyes.”

   even the great glorfindel has his limits, and when the scarf is unraveled, and one of the two turns to him, gentle blue eyes narrow in slight suspicion. he does not suspect them capable of playing a cruel prank, such as attempting harm, but these are not the safest of woods, and he is a lot better help with his eyesight, than without.

He just knows there is something strange about this elf when he finds his head pat like he were an elfling - certainly, nobody has treated him such since he was but twenty! 

Brown eyes widen significantly at mentions of the Trees. He has been told the history, of course, but to- To see them? He blinks, crestfallen.

❛ I have a feeling I should be treating you with a bit more respect, ❜ he mutters, trying to gather his wits about him. It’s not quite easy. ❛ Indeed! The Trees. That must be why your hair is golden as the sun above. ❜

   there’s a twinkle in his eye when he looks at the young elf next, a smile that curls his lips teasingly, even as his namesake is mentioned. there are always different ways of elves reacting to his age, and the sights he has seen in his time, but this is genuinely one of his favorites.

   he does not care for formality, or for elves to fall over themselves with treating him different, but there is something about the way the air seems sucked out of them, the way they regard him with childishly wide eyes... it gives him a little glee in seeing it.

His sympathy and warmth towards her situation and Númenor‘s predicament calmed the inner turmoil that raged inside her mind. It strengthened the diminishing hope held for the survival of her homeland, and she prayed that his vast knowledge and wisdom that he had acquired through his immortal life, could aid the kingdom in any way possible. She returned his smile with a small, but thankful one of her own.

             ❝ No, I do not wish for it; though history has often shown that bloodshed and violence brings change, I do not wish to travel down that path. I think to truly break the cycle, so that peace and goodness can flourish in a society once more, one needs to solve each problem in a way that avoids violence as much as possible; in a way that is most alike to the desired peace itself. ❞ She said as she shook her head slowly. ❝ Do you have any ideas on the preparations needed for this war? I fear that I am so blinded by worry that I cannot clear my mind so that ideas can thrive within. ❞

   she did not need to remind him of the history of bloodshed and violence, and the change it brought, but he does not remark on it. the history, his history is bloody and brutal, and although he has long since been healed of any grievances he might have had about it, he still remembered the hardships of war and the consequences of pride and oathmaking. it did not feel that long ago that his life had started tumbling out of the rhythm and path dictated for him by eru’s holy ones, and he still remembered the uncertainty it had caused him.
