re: food and desire
sometimes itβs hard for us to say what we really want. as if wanting is selfish, or ourΒ wants in particular are embarrassingβbecause they say something about us.
and our culture gives us lots of mixed messages about food. pay attention to the calories - no, the nutritional content - no, how it looksΒ - no, the ingredients - hereβs how to make gourmet macΒ βnβ cheese - hereβs how to meal prep on a budget - this one recipe will change your lifeβ¦
we just donβt really talk about eating. itβs all prep and presentation and socializing, but sometimes you just want to eat because it tastes good. because it feels good. and so food exists at this beautiful intersection where being open about wanting more food isnβt crazy embarrassing, but itβs a littleΒ bit vulnerable and a littleΒ bit transgressive.
and that, babes, is what drives me wild about someone being very vocal about wanting more.Β βIβm full, but itβs just so goodβ¦βΒ βIβm not really hungry anymore, but this feels good and I want moreβ¦β
