Strongest identities today... [last upt 3/1]
- 1967 Chevrolet Impala
- Darkwalker
- Night fury
Full identity list below [wip]
Long warning - I have an extremely impressionable mind for a multitude of reasons [mostly due to neurodivergence lmao] that has cursed me [/light hearted] with. MANY things
I commonly refer to the creatures I am as '[creature] type' and the identity as 'it' . This is for simplicity sake to try and detangle my brain, because I am so many things, when talking about them I need to separate them.
Names are either one from past lives or canon, or simply ones i gave myself to make myself feel more comfortable with these identities
My gender varies
- THERIOTYPES -
-NORTH AMERICAN COUGAR
Spiritual and psychological kin - physical - past life.
I had no name account of being wild. I lived and was born among the cliffs of Crater Lake. My mother raised me and my sister to adulthood, then i had three cubs - two of which survived. I was killed by poachers while I was hunting.
I believe it started as a cameoshift, but while that cameo was still running its course I visited Crater Lake, and awakened memories of a past life. The cameo soon turned into a theriotype.
-WOLFDOG [alaskan malamute x northwestern wolf]
Spiritual and psychological - physical - imprinting and past life
My name was Fifi. I was female. I lived in the great north - either Alaskan or Canadian wilderness. My owner lived off the land and grew a sled dog team to make it around. We were treated very good. We never really raced, only for some extra money when we needed it. There were five other dogs in my team, one of which was a german shepherd i was close to.
I died when we encountered a bear on the trail when I was about 6.
I believe it started from imprinting from childhood media and the wolfdog I grew up with - I discovered memories as well a couple of years ago.
I was a mare living out on the Oregon plains many decades ago, running wild with my herd. Soon, humans who didn't belong here came. My herd weren't going to let them take our home without a fight.
I have lots of fake memories that are near and dear to me, imprinted from horse media I grew up with - which is also how the theriotype formed.
-CANADIAN MARBLE FOX
Spiritual - physical - past life
I was a domestic fox who traveled the country on the road with my owners.
This theriotype just. appeared a couple years ago.
-SNOW LEOPARD
unknown.
This is a very recently discovered theriotype I don't know much about yet. Bear with me here.
-Canis Lupus Occidentalis [Northwestern/Mackenzie Valley wolf]
-Canis Lupus Orion [Greenland wolf]
-Canis Lupus Pambasileus [Interior Alaskan wolf]
-Canis Lupus Tundrarum [Alaskan Tundra wolf]
-Canis Rufus Floridanus [Florida black wolf]
- CLADE -
LYNX
-EURASIAN LYNX
Psychological - physical - imprinting + past life
This identity is heavily influenced by the game Shelter 2, so much so I'd partially consider it a fictotype. I have memories living within the Shelter 2 world.
-IBERIAN LYNX
Psychological - non-physical - imprinting
-CANADIAN LYNX
Psychological - non-physical - imprinting
-BOBCAT
Psychological - non-physical - imprinting
- KINTYPES -
-VOLCANO
Psychological - fluctuates - imprinting
Imprinted from an extreme volcano fixation that started a few years ago. I'm not a specific volcano, but I consider myself a cascadian volcano, and view the cascade range volcanoes my family.
-TORNADO
Psychological - fluctuates - imprinting
Imprinted from an extreme tornado fixation that started up a few years ago. Not any sort of specific tornado.
-VOLKSWAGON VANAGON 1984
Unknown
Awakened about a year ago, still figuring it out!
-1967 CHEVROLET IMPALA STATION WAGON
TBA
Very most likely a kintype formed as a mesh between my station wagon and 4-door '67 Impala bodies/forms.
- OTHERLIFE -
-VIKING [HTTYD]
Spiritual - physical - otherlife
I'm an average viking with red hair. When i was in my teens, I became a rider. I have at least 28 years of well conditioned memories from my life.
Similar to my darkwalker past life, I believe HTTYD and SoD was a gateway to connecting with this life rather than a creation of it.
- FICTOTYPES -
-NON CANON-
-NIGHT FURY
Psychological - physical - imprinting
I'm a night fury with a genetic condition [most likely leucism] that made it so some of my scales were white upon birth.
Imprinted from growing up obsessed with httyd my whole life, and especially watching the first movie when it first came out when I was still rather young.
I have a named attached to this identity; Skydiver.
-DARKWALKER
Spiritual - physical - past life
I once lived as a darkwalker, living among my family group and hunting prey on the frozen world. I fell from the stars soon before the Glyph Maker woke up in our world. Many years later, I was banished by prey on a hunt and ended up in this body.
I do consider this identity somewhat psychological, given it's basis in TLD and appearance after I started playing Escape the Darkwalker. I believe imprinting from this media connected me to my Darkwalker self, rather than created the identity.
-CHIMERAGON
Psychological - physical - imprinting
I'm a rather average chimeragon - white, brown and tan scales. Little bit smaller than usual.
Imprinted from SoD when I was going through an abnormally tough time.
-NA'VI
Psychological - non-physical - imprinting
tba - imprinted from growing up with the franchise

The term Incarnate was born out of years of feeling that my fictional identity, experiences, and desires were often too intense for traditional fictionkin spaces. I longed for connections beyond the internet. More than that, I longed to live as my fictional self, because for me there never felt like any other option.
Over the years, especially as I’ve aged, I’ve noticed that many fictionkin spaces have begun to feel increasingly adjacent to fandom spaces. Observing a recurring pattern of people affirming identities primarily to start or preserve friendships and/or maintain social connections. At best, I find that dishonest.
Incarnate was never intended to be just another fictional identity label. It was created for those of us who involuntarily identify as a fictional character so deeply that we feel compelled to embody and express that identity in our offline lives. For us, it isn’t simply an internal experience or online label—it’s something we actively seek to make tangible. This is not something I expect to resonate with everyone but it has with some.
I’ve been surprised by how much offense some fictionkin (and plurals) have taken to the concept that I initially used to label myself. To me, the desire to embody one’s identity in a physical, lived sense feels unavoidable if feasible. As who else would I be living as?
A being who identifies as a specific fictional character and experiences themselves as that character incarnated in the flesh. The literal meaning: “embody in flesh” or “give bodily form.”
For an Incarnate, the incarnation (character) extends beyond admiration or personal connection and is recognized as an intrinsic part of the self, expressed through daily life.
I.e. I am an incarnate. The incarnation of Louis from The Vampire Chronicles. I incarnated as Louis.

fictionfolk acceptance, even within the alterhuman community itself, is so conditional. it's okay to identify as a fictional character - as long as you don't take it too seriously, as long as you can separate yourself from your source to some degree, as long as it doesn't impact your mental health (or even sometimes an outright "as long as you know you aren't actually the character"). it's all dressed up language to soften the underlying sentiment of "don't be mentally ill about it." you can only be fictionfolk if you're doing it in a "normal" and "moderate" way, if you sand yourself down and never step over the line, otherwise you're delusional, you're in psychosis, you need to see a therapist, you're making our community look bad, something is wrong with you and you need to be fixed. whether that's what you mean to say or not, that is what you're saying, and we can tell.
anyone else have an extremely strong sense of identity and also no strong sense of identity at all because it changes constantly but each variation is like really pronounced. Im normal BTW and wont be seeiong a psychiatrist
Shoutout to fictionfolk who are different from their source in ways fandom doesn't tend to like.
Those who have a different orientation. Those who are disabled when their source isn't or vice versa. Those who are a different race or even species. Those who are a different gender, are intersex, are cis, or are trans in noncanon ways. Those who have different moral alignments. Those who barely are canon at all. Those who were in relationships that fandom considers a "bad ship". Those who hate and avoid being like their canon selves while the fandom can't seem to get enough.
You're not wrong for being you, it's not a crime to exist as yourself. You don't need to bend over backwards to please fandom. It's okay.

not doin any of that mr ms mrs mx business . unfortunately i dont have a robust enough academic or medical background to be called doctor. but i could go by Mt. aka mount. aka mountain. the only thing you can glean from that is that im big as fuck
I feel like discrimination against otherkin (and, let’s be fair, any non-therian alterhumans) is WAY too fucking normalised in alterhuman communities.
I just mentionned in an alterhuman serv that I was questionning a songkin/fictionkin identity and people reacted like "Is that possible ?" That one is okay, it’s okay not to know, just annoying people in alterhuman communities for months or years don’t know anything except therian.
Other people were like "Oh that’s too complicated… in my time we only had therians and mythical creatures" or even "It doesn’t feel right to me that people identify as something that’s not real". Thanks ya pals now I don’t even feel safe in my own goddamn communities. Sure y’all liked us better when the host was just a fox therian. I won’t miraculously stop identifying as something because it’s not is the teeny tiny window of what you consider palatable.
Hey therians. Unfriendly reminder that your communities were built by otherkins. Werewolves and fairies and elves and aliens. Seems like some of you forgot that. Now these people feel as alienated with you as they are with humans.
Non-therians have it hard. I’ve been fakeclaimed by folks because "You can’t be something that doesn’t exist". I can’t find safe spaces, have to explain what I am half the time (honestly that one is not a problem since I’m a yapper), feeling constantly left on the side. People use animal-centric language because sure if you’re not human you’re an animal. A living animal- a mammal - a carnivore - let’s say it, a dog. Just I’m not a homo sapiens doesn’t mean I have paws and a snout. We can’t find euphoria tips, gears, we’re constantly forgotten. These are the same for therians with rare theriotypes, monkeys, herbivores, invertebrates, birds.
Otherkins and fictionkins and therians with rare theriotypes have it hard, but don’t get me started on factkin, conceptkin, otherhearted, songkin, plantkin, objectkin. CONSTANTLY FUCKING EXCLUDED. It’s therian this and therian that and sometimes otherkin and the rest is forgotten.
Ok don’t get me wrong. I love my therian brothers and sisters and sibling and friends and elders.
But if y’all therians really care for your non-therian pals you’d better show it right now.
We don’t feel safe or understood in the spaces ya built.
if you're an alterhuman, therian/otherkin or fictionfolk and haven't disillusioned yourself with the concept of delusions and fantastical thinking as defined by psychiatry, to the point of refusing to call any belief "delusional" at face value, then I am here to remind you that there is nothing, absolutely nothing standing between a person diagnosed with delusions of grandeur for believing they are a wizard, and you, who sincerely believes that you are an animal or fictional character on a spiritual level. unless you are 'kin but "don't actually believe it", in which case you are not. you need to dismantle the idea of a psychotic "other", who's beliefs and experiences should not be believed/respected once they pass a certain threshold of crazy, immediately. YOU are that other to orthohumans who believe in it

i don’t get the person going on a whole war against otherpaw/fictionpaw right now. the whole point was to encourage people with different experiences to use different terminology. they’re ALLOWED to have the experiences that make them otherpaw/fictionpaw. them no longer using therian/fictionkin to describe themselves is a good thing.
the point of labels like this is to seek community easily. them having unique terms helps them find each other and helps therians/fictionkin not have to sift through their posts when looking for folks who share experiences. if you want to debate on whether it belongs under the alterhuman umbrella? whatever man. i’ve come to realize that as long as people aren’t thieving terminology or using existing words disingenuously, i don’t actually give a crap.
so otherpaw/fictionpaw people. keep on keepin on, you’re literally doing the best you can to establish your own community and spaces and somehow that’s still not good enough for some people.
i noticed somewhat of a trend of radio collar ids for wild canines so i looked into it. But since they are not as popular for wild horses i propose something else: Freeze Brands
They are used by the american BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and are actually an 8-digit ID;
The last three digits narrow the location even more down. A pdf with a lot of those "herd codes" can be found here:
Obviously this isn't a perfect solution, but i really liked the idea and wanted to share my take on it.
Since i am not american but my country doesn't really have any actually wild horses (just some in nature reserves so there is no real need for monitoring) i adapted it a bit:
I am from Germany(Deutschland-> D), so i will use a box instead of the first symbol, because it resembles a D.
I'm born in 2006 so the next two are 06.
And because i wanted something similar to the american system i just took the digits corresponding to the abbreviation of my state.
So i ended at: D06 181216
I was ready to tweak it a bit but i absolutely love it. I don't even know why it just has a great sound.
horse brands don't have to be numbers either! and theyre not just for wild horses! ranchers brand their horses all the time!
i think something cool that us domestic horses could do is create a symbol for themselves! heres some info about what different placements and common symbols mean from the American Quarter Horse Association.
there is also the lip tattoo system used commonly in Thoroughbreds but also other breeds!
