I'd say that 12/13 has to be the lower limit? I can't imagine anyone getting away with an immortal child much younger than that. Sure, you can teach 10-year-olds, 8-year-olds, etc, but they are still young enough that higher reasoning doesn't always work. Most people wouldn't leave them by themselves at that age. When I was 12/13 that's when I was able to enroll in a babysitting course and people would let me watch their kids; that seems like a decent litmus test for a kid that is 'old enough' to not be an immortal child.

But there's probably some wiggle room. I'm sure there are very responsible and mature 11-year-olds out there, and 14-year-olds you wouldn't let water your plants over a weekend let alone watch your children.

Jane and Alec are right on that line, IMO. And if someone other than Aro had created them, he very well might have used "oh no, immortal children" as an excuse to go after their creator and then 'mercifully' adopted the immortal children and 'trained' them, or whatever.

But have you already imagined them in the 80's??

this is a completely groundless hc but I want her to be best friends with afton because I love afton and I find him entertaining. maybe they could bond over what it’s like to be misfits or what it’s like to date someone capable of fuckin with your emotions/loyalty idk

then there are characters who are anyone’s guess, like renata, santiago, corin, chelsea, the wives, even caius and marcus. could all go either way, if you ask me. the only thing we know for sure is that jane and alec are alice antis and i’m proud of them for that. lmaooo live your truth you murderous little twerps

Benjamin and Jacob look for something special during a hike

They walked along through the woods, creating their own trail as they carefully stepped over roots, stones, and growing plants. It was quiet; only the sound of the light rain through the trees and the occasional skittering of small animals could be heard.

“Are you sure this is the right way?” Benjamin asked, squeezing Jacob’s hand. 

“Nope!” Jacob said cheerily. He paused when he felt Benjamin tug on his hand. He looked back, realizing he had stopped walking. “Is there a problem?”

Benjamin sighed. “ Babe. You told me you knew where we were going.”

“I may have exaggerated a little.” 

“Dude!” 

“What?” Jacob walked to Benjamin and wrapped his arms around his waist. Benjamin kept his arms crossed. “You got somewhere else to be? A bedtime to keep? Hot dinner date?” He laughed and kissed Benjamin’s forehead.
