what is it with "pro recovery" ppl and also very staunchly believing their mental illness absolves them of responsibility for harm done unto others? is this a thing or just me? I swear to God every person I've ever interacted with who was loudly "pro recovery" has also used their status as a mentally ill person to excuse their actions and cry ableism when someone says their behavior is abusive. which, honestly, seems extremely anti recovery to me ? "you can't stay mentally ill UNLESS it's a behavior that affects only other people, in which case you can't help it and THEY need to support you"?? I seriously don't get it in the slightest. my self-oriented delusions that don't affect other people are anti-recovery and dangerous, but you sending death threats to friends of your ex friends in a random fit of rage and saying your bpd made you do it is #prorecovery . in my honest opinion the only "recovery" that should ever be anyone else's business is the management of behaviors that affect them/their relationship with the person directly. why is the common consensus reversed
