Putting aside the very early seasons when he had legitimate reason to hide his feelings, Mickey is generally open and honest with his emotions, whether it’s his love for Ian (even in the toughest of times like when he’s in prison and on the other side of the glass) or his complex feelings for his pos father. Noel played Mickey beautifully.

oh yeah absolutely. like from day one ian was enamored by mickey. visiting him in juvy with that love struck smile of his. the "i need to see you" scene... bub is so broken up and he just immediately goes to mickey. giving mickey all his savings when he goes to Mexico. and honestly i think in a not far off timeline ian would have gone with him. i also feel ian wanting mickey to come out came from not only wanting mickey to be free, but because he just loved him so much and wanted to show off his amazing boyfriend. theres so many examples of mickey clearly having ians whole heart. ill leave it with the end of s11 e12 at the alibi when ian walks in and see the celebration stuff. he just looks at mickey and says "i love this man" and there is no way he doesn't mean it with every fiber in his body, every ounce of his heart.

my overall thought is the writers just needed more drama(even though i feel hos wasn't needed) and whats better than marital drama? it's kinda just dumb imo

Ian saying that Mickey only has 87% of his heart is one of the most heartbreaking and OOC things said on the show. I’ll give Mickey some latitude on the bipolar comment. Truth is, Ian is bipolar and we say things we don’t mean when we are mad, things we’d fight someone else for if they said it. But Ian matter of factly saying that that Mickey doesn’t have all of his heat is just cruel. His other significant others (and I use the term significant very loosely) have nothing, absolutely nothing, on Mickey. 😠

Such an underrated Gallavich scene imo is the “You’re Such a F*cking Barbarian” scene when Mickey says he doesn’t want to live in the apartment on the West-Side and Ian sits down on the mattress with him and says they won’t move there then. And when Mickey gets suspicious and asks why, Ian physically says, “Cuz you’re my husband, if you’re not happy there then we don’t have to stay there.”

I feel like this is such an underrated moment cuz Mickey immediately gets scared of being deceived and gets defensive. Which leads to Ian immediately comforting and consoling him and promising that he’s not tricking him.

I might be looking a little deep into it, but I just think it’s a beautiful moment. Seeing that his whole life, Mickey was manipulated and hurt in so many ways by his own father and it’s hard for him to trust others. Then here comes his husband tearing those walls down and consoling him that he only wants what Mickey wants because HE. IS. HIS. HUSBAND.

This is so right, breaks my heart how Mickey immediately thinks that he’s being manipulated, and Ian just realises that and reassures him! His whole life Mickey is punished for showing vulnerability or wanting something for himself, and Ian almost rewards him for wanting something or being vulnerable-he’s gentle, he reassures him, plays with him, kisses him, holds him, shows him that he loves him for who he is and he’s proud of him for expressing what he wants! Ian is a good husband Godamnit, and he loves Mickey so much

Heyyyyyy! Wanted your opinion on helping me figure out a Gallavich head cannon!

So I feel like on occasion, Mickey will get nightmares from stuff that Terry’s done to him and his siblings. And whenever that happens, Ian will wake him up and comfort him. Vice versa, Ian will get nightmares from past episodes or things he’s done to Mickey since he’s so grateful for him now post-season 11 and Mickey will comfort him. My question is how would they comfort each other? Would it be in different ways or forms?

omg i love this actually. im thinking maybe ian(assuming they're already cuddling) would trace shapes on Mickey's back, or rub the back of his head while whispering reassuring/calming things in his ear. mickeys way to comfort ian would be similar but slightly different. i think he would kinda push ian into him, letting ian for lack of better wording, sniff him. mickey is well aware of ians scent thing, and it seems to always be the one for sure thing that can ground ian. mickey would also reassure him that hes safe, theyre together all while slowly rubbing his thumb up and down ians ear(ive always found this really soothing lol) honestly i think just them waking up enough to realize the other is right there, and that they're safe in their bed together would be a big help as well
