not to mention, Flinx is among the ships thats tagged, they are usually just filler ships in these and most of the time written horribly and their characters are done unjust, so initially at just the idea of checking it out i winced for the worse.

but curiosity killed the cat, I'm starving for any Flinx at this point and its a newer, ongoing fic, so i couldn't help but see how it'd go, despite my initial worries I bit the bullet.

and my god, dude.

I actually.... like how Flinx are portrayed here...??? they're kinda fun, both as a potential pair (still not dating) and as individuals. I love how the characters are portrayed too, like Starfire, although its on the guise of being a literal alien, I love that there's neurodivergence-coding to her! with her struggle understanding social cues and trying to blend in. Kid Flash/Wally is also surprisingly balance-ly written, he somehow has this air of mystery and intrigue to him as a civilian, but heroic and selfless as Kid Flash, yet both maintaining his cocky and common flirty persona in a way its not overbearing or perverted creep territory. Jinx's struggles with HIVE is also here, kinda somewhat flesh out their dynamic as well but still maintaining the vibe (at the end of the day, its all for self gain)

and the potential miraculous-esque love square of it all too sheeshhh.

the contrast of high school at day and hero/villain-ing at night, and the action sequences????? I'm on the edge of my seat the entire time— it feels like I'm watching the show itself. have to admit, this author really knows their stuff.

I'm still a bit nervous of what's to come, again I'm very finicky about ships and its tags, waiting for a notp to happen, its like waiting for a bomb to detonate, but I can't lie, I want to know what's gonna happen next regardless. the overall plot is intriguing to follow.

a rather boring answer from me though haha.

how Kid Flash feels about HIVE FIVE? well, similar to your perception, KF finds them a group nuisance overall but fun to mess with haha, however, if Jinx felt threatened or uncomfortable in any way (unlikely but just in case), he'd go up in arms and shield her.

this headcanon is based on Lightspeed where he said, "Let me worry about them" in response to Jinx's theatrical "What about the Hive Five? they'd come after me",

also this peculiar panel from issue 49 that implied Mammoth and Gizmo had been told to leave Jinx alone before, yet still tried to reach her, that she had to remind them about it.

notice that Kid Flash becomes uncharacteristically up in arms and serious before Jinx handwaves him away. i headcanon Mammoth/Gizmo had attempts (i imagine, the hard way) trying to get Jinx back to HIVE FIVE beforehand and they couldn't take a no, it seems.

i imagine in my Side-B AU, initially, post-Jinx leaving the team, the remaining HIVE FIVE tried to work as a team with Jinx's absence, but the lack of direction eventually made them work separately, thus, you'd see them alone instead of in team formations.

ultimately they disbanded but they still live together, though, since the database is still in the HIVE underground base and they need that to track and commit petty crimes. (peculiar wording detail, keyword : "you're making this team of five thing work", "the old hive gang"—yep, they disbanded haha. that also explains why See-More, Billy, and Wykkyd went separately instead of as a group)

i also like to think while See-More, Billy, and Wykkyd work alone or go AWOL, Gizmo and Mammoth would still be seen teaming up sometimes since they knew and worked with each other longer.

by this point, while there were once or twice they (or some of them) went to other regions to work with other villains (one of which was a collaboration with the Roguelites), they're still strictly Jump City villains, so they're still dealing with the Founding Titans.

long down the line, when Shimmer comes in the picture, renamed Neo HIVE works as a proper team again (perhaps with an additional ex-HIVE student, like Angel?).

although they would mostly be in Jump, they'd expand the range to Keystone as well for a "visit" sometimes. (because Mammoth missed Jinx and still wanted her to come back, of course still blames KF for her leaving instead of acknowledging his nor HIVE's faults).

oh yes i explained beforehand a while ago, but i'm happy to explain again for newcomers haha.

so its actually a reference to music on vinyl/cassettes, where sometimes a single features two sides, A-Side and B-Side.

The A-side usually features a hit record or basically the main promotional song, while the B-side (or "flip side") is a secondary recording that receives less attention, such as a demo song or extra recording. i thought its a fitting name since my AU is not exactly focused on the main founding Titans and instead Flinx-centric along with other branching Titans and enemies.

(right is two of the initial concepts of my AU's logo, the idea was referencing a cassette tape on a shelf, albeit they're scrapped now haha.)

initially, the conceptual name was "Honorary Teen Titans : Go!" as if a direct spin-off of the comic, but eventually the name "Teen Titans : B-Side" was considered, more directly referencing the term. but y'know i can't exactly shorten it to "TT:BS" for obvious reasons haha, so i had to flip it around to "Side-B", like how its sometimes worded on those double-sided cassettes themselves.

and thus "Teen Titans : Side-B"

.... though come to think of it i should've called it "Teen Titans : Flip-Side" instead..

at most Batman04? i'm not very savvy with DC in general and only just recently delved into the DCU movies (Snyder era put me off from checking them out entirely), commonly i tend to just laser focus on one universe in one fandom haha, its way easier to track that way.

yeah! @geekgirles introduced the fic to me and i've drawn fanarts of it! (here, here, and here). while the writing format is a testament to its time, but MAN the premise and the build-up—gosh, I'm so sad that it ended on a cliffhanger like that.

oh anon by the time i discovered Flinx i already grown out of that era fdkjjkdf, so i never stumbled upon any, but i knew AMVs existed after the fact because its among the "sonic X episode 20 part 1" and "Sonic Paradox 3" videos on the side.

just i was in the sonic fandom mostly and only stumble upon AMVs for that fandom (hello Barbie Girl and Witch Doctor AMVs LOL), i only knew of Teen Titans and Flinx internet fandom by 2010s and only delved even deeper recently.

i'd much prefer reading or seeing tagged ship work written by at least fellow likers of the ship.

because its very obvious when one only include them out of obligation, or don't like it and want to separate them, and not necessarily because the fan writer/artist gave a damn, the fans aren't stupid y'know? i can tell when theres no heart to it.

i don't speak for the ship fandom, but i don't need to be thrown a bone.

its frankly insulting. i block these people immediately but i can't help feeling irritated.

its always consuming with you and never creating anything, right?

i never liked this discussion because its always rooted in bad faith and takes away the main conversation, its never about the character, you dgaf about her character, her role, her struggles and missed potential in 03's story.
