cd hatred will always make me say what the even hell are you saying right now like listen to me right now if you show a cd love it will literally love you right back but also the thing about cds is that you also don’t have to show them love to be loved back like i can throw that shit around i can force feed that baby into my car like i do not have a care in the world and leave her in my car for 24 hours a day every day for four months with an internal temperature of 120 degrees, i can pop her in a cd player and jumble her around in my bag i can literally toss her like a frisbee into a boombox and miss and she will still come back like cds aren’t invincible but imagine doing that with a vinyl she’d be weeping and shaking and asking to be put back into her sleeve and tucked in meanwhile my cd is getting a makeover in sharpie and smoking a cigarette

listen i used to just have a loose stack of cds in my car that were just getting pummeled by rough roads and me hitting curbs and harsh brakes and huge heat waves. i would flip through that stack of cds to find what i wanted to listen to like it was a stack of playing cards i would shuffle that shit up like i was doing magic tricks. i would find a cd. look at her like oh boy did i do a number on you, nonetheless shove her into my cd player. she would come back out and be like “i don’t think i can play today :(“ and i would say “aw baby” and take her out and rub her back all over my jeans to “clean” and her and guess what she’d be like “okay i can do it now :)” i love cds.
