While I felt a lot of the content was pretty basic, its become clear over the years that a worrying amount of people are missing basic

The game treats the Miis like they’re real people and makes zero mention ever that they are not, and only ever refers to them and their POV as if they are real and you are their caretaker! While playing this honestly messed with my head pretty badly at times and made me worry a lot on if I was hurting real people/not doing enough for real people while I was playing!

I cannot imagine how much worse this would be for someone who’s unmedicated, non-dormant, or experiencing breakthrough symptoms! Do please be careful and PLEASE remember to have a way to reality check yourself while playing the game!!!

Luka and Juleka had the deadbeat dada drama and it concluded with the father/son relationship being the only one that mattered and Juleka, who canonically was insecure about her relationship with Mr. Deadbeat, being not so much as a bullet note; not to mention having other characters ignore Anarka’s influence in their musical upbringing (ignoring moms becomes a running theme 🤪)

Chloé. Complete and total daddy’s girl except when she’s evil, in which case she’s her absentee mother’s daughter. Daddy’s responsible for the good, mommy for the bad. Excellent non sexist writing /s. Don’t wanna dwell on her.

With Marinette, I get the impression that she’s closer to her father than she is her mother, which by itself isn’t a problem, but then we compare the amount of individual characterization Tom and Sabine get (as in, when they’re not a monolith) and like. Tom gets all the personality while Sabine gets all the foreign mysticism and also is the emotionally stable/responsible one and apparently had 0 influence on Marinette’s upbringing whatsoever and I’m just tired of it. It’s a tired trope. Other salters can speak about the subject better. TL;DR: Tom is a character whereas Sabine is a caricaturistic space filler. Moving on.

That brings us to the most important parent/child relationship: Gabriel and Adrien. I’m gonna skip over most of the analysis for this one cuz it’s all been said already. Gabriel abuses Adrien. Adrien loves his father unconditionally. Emilie is somehow a nonfactor in all of this (see what I meant about a running theme?). Gabriel drops dead. Adrien still loves his father unconditionally and also is super chill with him being dead. Oh wait, did I say their relationship is the most important? My bad, I meant to say their relationship is completely inconsequential to the plot and that Gabriel’s motivations for pretty much everything could be explained through his obsession for his fridged wife and his perceived Ideal. These two could go the entire series without speaking to each other and nothing would change. In the grand scheme of things, these two don’t matter to each other’s alleged “arcs”; Gabriel is a selfish prick who supposedly redeemed himself… by being a selfish prick, and Adrien makes friends and allegedly grieves fantastically (if at all).

And it’s such a shame because each of these dynamics have so much to offer narratively but miss the mark by leagues. Dad = Good. Mom = inconsequential unless it’s Bad in which case it’s her fault entirely. It’s disappointing on its own for all the untapped potential and sexist as hell if you think about it for more than two seconds.

But there's a concentrated effort to turn Charlie Kirk into a martyr, even if it means rolling a boulder uphill. They're saying he was a "free speech advocate" while they try to get people fired for sharing his own quotes.

It turned out the shooter wasn't remotely the sort of person they wanted, and they're still trying their damnedest to shove that square block into a round hole and make us decide the killer was "close enough" to what they wanted to justify more Rightwing nonsense.

And the only way to stop this is to fight back. To spread awareness of exactly who this martyr was.

A man who said the Civil Rights Act was an anti-white mistake.

A man that sneered at the idea of showing empathy to his enemies.

A man who said "Jewish Money" is ruining American culture.

A man who said Martin Luther King was "awful."

A man who maintained a list of Professors he said were spreading left-wing propaganda (a list that resulted in a large volume of hate mail and threats).

A man who found out that Nancy Pelosi's husband had been brutally beaten and responded by saying "Why has [the attacker] not been bailed out? By the way, if some amazing patriot out there in San Francisco or the Bay Area wants to really be a midterm hero, someone should go and bail this guy out."

A man so desperate to lie about Tim Walz that he spread a conspiracy theory about Walz's dog.

A man who spread easily-debunked "It was stolen" conspiracy theories about Trump's 2020 loss.

A man who claimed Tim Walz pushed anti-white COVID-prevention/treatment plans.

A man that defended attempts to trick Democrat voters into thinking they'd voted when they hadn't.

A man who claimed that Joe Biden intentionally let Afghanistan fall to the Taliban to create refugees that would change America's population demographics.

A man that mocked prominent black women, saying they were DEI hires that did not have "the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously."

A man that blamed Texas flooding tragedies on a black fire chief, who had no real connection to the problems, that Kirk said was a DEI hire.

A man that said "If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, 'Boy, I hope he's qualified.'"

A man who, talking about gun death in America, said "I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."

A man who said, about transexuals (warning: Twitter link), "I blame the decline of American men. This should never have been… y'know… you should've… someone should have just took care of it [emphasis his], the way we used to took care of things in the 1950s and 60s."

A man who saw Ms. Rachel saying "love your neighbor and yourself" to defend her decision to acknowledge her gay listeners and responded with a Bible verse about stoning gay people to death.

You'll have a hard time finding the source of that last one, by the way. Not because he didn't say it - he's on video, proudly and smugly mocking the idea of empathy toward gay people, and smirking that the Bible says to stone them to death ("Just saying!" he laughed) - but the Right Wing/Pundit apparatus latched onto Stephen King pointing out that Kirk said that. So now if you google "Charlie Kirk" "stoning" you'll get article after article about King apologizing for saying that. Many of the articles will claim that King was wrong.

But. He. Wasn't.

And that's what we're going to be facing. People trying to rewrite history and claim Kirk was a free-speech advocate, trying to make him a martyr, and probably trying to blame his death on "The Woke Left." We're already seeing elected "left" officials falling over themselves to say they just disagreed with the man on a few things, like this was just a polite debate about exactly how high taxes should be and not the life's work of a deeply bigoted hate-filled hate-stoking man that talked about "taking care" of transexuals with all the subtlety of a mafia don.
