it’s truly remarkable when you put it this way. but it also begs the question: what is there, if anything, that could prevent this?
feminism has been around for decades, yet educating men has never worked.
the best thing a woman can do is be educated, have her own career and financial independence. and never partner with a male.
it won’t stop all violence against us, but it’ll save millions of us from male partner violence, which is more common than strangers killing or raping us.

"It's not a woman's responsibility to give birth, not for the benefit of her community, her religion or humans as a species. Even if you were the last fertile human woman on Earth and by refusing to breed you'd doom humans to extinction, you still don't owe children to anyone."
These words, in one form or another, I've read many times in feminist circles. It's a very basic feminist value, that no one should pressure a woman regarding her own reproduction, shame her for choosing to remain childless let alone try to make the decision for her. But the line "even if humans as a species went extinct" has always stayed at the back of my mind. It's easy to agree that it's unethical for countries to cry about lowering birthrates and pressure women into having unwanted babies, that politics shouldn't be done in women's wombs. But extinction of humanity is such a speculative thing, unlikely to be experiences during our lifetimes, that I feel... I don't know, adding a theoretical, imaginary scenario after a list of things that are already happening somehow is strange to me.
It is unlikely, that I will witness the downfall of humanity as a species. But I wanted to try to at least imagine what it would be like.
I have been re-reading old fantasy stories I wrote when I was around 15 years old. They're childish and silly but back then I had fun creating worlds, cultures and species. Recently I started to rewrite one of my favourite stories, which is about a species of winged, bird-like humanoid creatures, my favourite among the many imaginary species I came up with back when I was a teen. As a teenager I had them go through a series of misfortunes but survive in the end. This time will be different, I decided. Everyone keeps saying that a good writer needs to be capable of killing the characters she likes best. I would take that to a new level and extinct the species I liked the most.
Early on the male protagonist meets a female who voices her desire to never build a nest, to not have her entire life be bound to taking care of chicks and taking care of elderly of the flock until she herself is too old to go fishing for her own food. Recently their flock had suffered an attack by a predator, who killed most of that year's chicks, so the female is concerned, that other members of her flock might not be understanding of her decision since new chicks are desperately needed. The protagonist reminds her that (being based on birds as they are) one of the core values of their culture is the phrase "The female's choice is sacred." No one is allowed to critizise a female's choice of a mate, even if she chooses to pick a mate from a different flock, from a different species, to mate with another female resulting in unfertilized eggs or if she chooses to not mate at all.
I make the protagonist say the words, "Even if you were the last fertile female of our species, you'd still not owe anyone chicks. If our species can't survive without forcing a female to mate against her will, we deserve to go extinct." To him, this is of course just a speculative scenario that he presents to the female who is doubting her choice, to convince her not to compromise her true wishes. At this point of the story, their species is numerous and neither of them consider extinction to be a realistic scenario. The doubting female thanks protagonist for his encouraging words and desides to follow her heart, leaving the flock to explore the world and have adventures of her own.
After the protagonist and the doubting female have parted ways, many world-changing events take place. The fantasy world they live in goes through a cataclysmic change, spirits wage wars against each other over mortals and the land where the bird people live falls under the rule of the greatest of the evil spirits. Much like the passenger pigeon, which once was among the most numerous birds, the rapid hunting of the bird people by the evil spirits drives the bird people to extinction. With the exception of protagonist and the one lone female, who had left their homeland before shit hit the fan.
The great evil spirit regrets allowing her servants to kill the bird people in such an uncontrollable manner. When she finds the last surviving male and female, she imprisons them and demands them to repopulate. "Surely you understand the responsibility you have for the future of your species." Terrified of her, they pretend to agree.
After being left alone, they speak their true feelings. "Do you still stand by those words, that I don't owe chicks to anyone, even if I was the last female of our species?" the female asks. Protagonist has not changed his opinion on the subject. "We disgrace our culture if we repopulate our homeland by violating the sanctity of a female's choice and bring forth a generation of chicks whose fate is to increase the numbers of our species through incest."
Together they come up with a plan to trick the evil spirit and instead of reproducing themselves, they secretly help a member of a different species to bring into the world a new species, which turns out to be the one who can defeat the evil spirits. The great spirit war comes to an end, the world is stable again, though drasticly changed. This is where my original story had its happy ending.
I wrote an epilogue, in which protagonist visits last female on her deathbed. She doesn't regret her choice to never breed, but doesn't handwave the burden that such a decision brought her. "Historians may not paint a favorable image of me. I predict I will be seen as a selfish female, who had the chance to save our species and cruelly decided not to. There will be many, who think I should have set aside my own wishes for the benefit of our kind." "Humans and other uncivilized folks may think so." protagonist says, "But we were a civilized race. The fate of a nation must not be decided in a female's genitals. All living creatures will once meet their death, every species will one day march into the Chamber of Extinction. Our species had a long and successful reign but now we must step aside and make way for something new to take our place."
Through fiction, through fantasy, I wanted to try to imagine what it would be like to be a woman in that kind of a speculative scenario. The heavy burden of having the fate of an entire species pushed upon you. I feel that fantasy setting with several sentient species doesn't quite work, since if humans went extinct in our world, there would be no one to judge the last woman in books of history.
I don't know if my thought experiment led to anything meaningful, but it was a fascinating scenario for a fantasy story. At least it made me realize one of the reasons why I find the "we must ensure the survival of humanity as a species no matter what" stuff found in post-apocalyptic stories so distasteful: when there's only a handful of survivors, their offspring will end up forming incestuous pairs and perhaps we as a species should rather die out than try to stay alive by crawling in the low end of the gene pool.
I hope that when humans meet their final end, we have the strength of will to march into the Chamber of Extinction with dignity.
you can't girlboss your way out of the humiliation of performing femininity. miniskirts are supposed to humble you by having you stay alert to them riding up and exposing you. high heels are supposed to humble you by having you move carefully, wary of twisting an ankle (or stumbling and exposing yourself). make-up is supposed to humble you by having you control your feeding and resting habits, lest you smudge it. there's sexualization imbedded in them. they are SUPPOSED to embarrass you, because the ultimate titillation is the assertion of control over you. you can't desex them.
if, for society to continue on, women must be subjugated, then it is not "humanity" that benefits. it's is men.
if women are required/forced to be: pregnant, or subservient to men, to allow for a "family structure" and a birth rate that allows for the continuation of society, then this subjugation does not benefit all of humanity; it benefits men at the direct expense of women.

the year is 2035. the new beauty standard is for women to cut their ears off, as ears are a masculine trait which make the face look too big and hearing isnt necessary as it doesnt align with being demure. evil feminists say perhaps this is unnecessary and ears are natural. women are agressively proclaiming they are cutting their ears off due to sensory issues
Saw a post about how female massage therapists are refusing male clients and the horror stories of sexual abuse they face. So many of the comments also shared similar experiences, but the same question kept popping up.
"Why don't they just visit massage parlours that offer sexual services?"
It's hard to wrap my head around that after hearing those experiences, the "solution" is to pawn off these sexually violent men onto an "acceptable" target.
If a man is aggressive and ignores the consent of a woman who is working in a professional setting with help nearby, what will he do with a woman who can't say no? Why are these women expected to be the shock absorbent for male sexual violence?
And clearly, it doesn't even work. Because it's the violation and entitlement to womens bodies that fuel this behaviour.
If we can acknowledge that sexual assault is different than any other form of assault so much so that it requires its own name(rape), then we must understand that sex is different from any other action in society. This concept has to extend to jobs too meaning that sex work is inherently different from any other profession. This is the basis from which all anti porn and sex work arguments must stem.
You are at home watching TV and on comes an advert. It features a young man having a drink with his male friends when they see a charming woman enter the bar. The man walks up to her and tries to seduce her but she ignores him. He looks back at his friends who are laughing at him. Suddenly, he leaves the bar and comes back later on with his hair dyed blue. The woman instantly throws herself at him, kissing him and all the men in the bar are stunned. “Go blue” is the name of the hair dye brand, for men only. The next day on the radio you hear another advert promoting blue hair for men in which a woman explains why blue hair gets her instantly turned on. Going on Facebook, articles are shared : “10 reasons why men with blue hair are the sexiest”. Another article is titled : “why women are turned off by natural hair colour”. Yet another article from a website called “OpenMindNaturaScience” explains why women’s brain is pleased with the colour blue and how this colour makes them happy because of biological reasons. On the subway, a poster shows a sexy man with blue hair running away from dozens of female models who all want a piece of him.
Day after day the medias keep focusing on women’s preferences, especially their attraction towards the colour blue and blue hair.
And little by little, all the men around you dye their hair blue. The bus driver, the customer, your boss, your friend, the man on the street. They all have different shades of blue hair. Some are even dressed in blue, buy blue cars, wear blue make up.
And you see all these men and start thinking : “They’re so obviously trying to please us women, they know that’s what we like, this is all for us. Look at this guy with his blue shoes and blue hair, obviously trying to get our attention… and this guy at work who pretends he doesn’t like me, he’s wearing blue nail polish, he’s trying to look tough, he might not even like me but he’s still trying to please me. They’re working so hard to look good for us, this guy is rude but look at his blue hair ! He knows his place deep down. I go on the subway and I see all these men with blue hair, obviously responding to our desires, obviously interested in seducing us. All this time and money and keeping it perfectly blue every day. They think about us all the time. They are desperate to be liked by me. They ARE for ME.”

If you were to describe any other group as an animal, it would be bigoted. When misandrists call men pigs, its meant to be insulting. You call a brown man a monkey and it's rightfully racist. Refer to a Jew as a rat and it's anti-semetic but refer to a woman as bitch and somehow, it's empowering? "oh, but we reclaimed it!!" When did we decide to reclaim a slur for 50% of the population. Did I miss the meeting. Where was my invite. Was there a vote.
they know why you get upset when they call you a b*tch or a c*nt, men know they’re slurs, they know it’s degrading to be called them. that’s why they call women they don’t like b*tches, that’s also why they call other men b*tches.
they don’t need to be educated on why consent matters because they already know why rape is bad. men see rape for what it is, an abuse of power and an act of sadism against women. but they don’t care because they get off to it anyways.
they know why sexually harassing women on the street is inappropriate and wrong. they just don’t care because they feel like it gives them a power boost. they know it’s a tool to remind us that “hey i can do whatever i want to you and i’ll face zero consequences because i’m a man.”
they know why pretending to be women is offensive and objectifying. they just don’t care because they get off on violating our boundaries. they enjoy harassing lesbians and bi women into sleeping with them. they enjoy going into our spaces to demand we make them the most important people on the room.
it’s never something that we do. there’s nothing wrong with us. the reasons men go out of their way to make us miserable is because they want to.
I wonder when society is gonna realize that sending abusive men to therapy does nothing but equip them with new official sounding therapyspeak terms to use when guilt tripping their victims

This image is from a Finnish news outlet (https://www.hs.fi/helsinki/art-2000012096889.html), taken from 2026 Helsinki Pride. Trans activists from Trans ry and Aurora Helsinki are calling to have multiple Finnish doctors and researchers removed from their position (or: Kaltiala to be taken "down" (there's no violent connotations in Finnish) and the rest they're telling to go to hell, I guess).
Kaltiala: is for sure Riittakerttu Kaltiala, chief psychiatrist, professor of youth psychiatry, has researched trans issues extensively (https://researchportal.tuni.fi/fi/persons/riittakerttu-kaltiala/publications/ (also with her previous surname Kaltiala-Heino)) and is probably one of the top researchers of the topic in the world
Tuisku: possibly Katinka Tuisku, the deputy chief doctor for the hospital district of Helsinki and Uusimaa, whose research has been about psychiatric morbidity among adolescents and young adults, for example (https://researchportal.helsinki.fi/fi/persons/katinka-tuisku/)
Kettula: possibly Kaisa Kettula, specialist psychiatrist, who has studied e.g. (experimental) treatment of gender dysphoria in patients with non-binary gender identities, and gender dysphoria and detransitioning in adults (https://researchportal.helsinki.fi/fi/persons/kaisa-h-kettula/publications/)
Ruuska: possibly Sami-Matti Ruuska, specialist psychiatrist in youth psychiatry, whose research found that significant number of youth who seek sex reassignment have severe psychiatric disorders and that physical transition may not alleviate symptoms (https://yle.fi/a/74-20219979)
Heino: possibly Elias Heino, who is a PhD student and has done research on gender dysphoria, transgender identity and mental health in adolescence (https://www.duodecimlehti.fi/duo17611), but of this one I am least sure
And trans movement is not anti science?
Here is a Reddit post calling for people to join their section in the Pride march: https://www.reddit.com/r/transnord/comments/1uclcao/join_our_antitranspoli_block_at_helsinki_pride/ The post states e.g. that trans outpatient clinics are gatekeepers, who stop or unreasonably stall vital health care for transgender people. The post also states that getting treatment requires fulfilling arbitrary criteria and can be completely stopped due to issues that have nothing to do with it, such as being overweight or neuroatypical, or even not doing well in school.
Of course, if there are issues with the care, that should be investigated. But no other field of "healthcare" gets this much opposition to the science behind it. Imagine something like this going on about research on heart conditions or cancer. On the Reddit post linked above someone is outright saying that Kaltiala's research is made up, which means they are questioning the whole university system. Not saying that critique shouldn't be given when it's due, of course, but something tells me it isn't in this case.
Apparently what trans activists want to have in Finland as well is the informed consent model. Too bad it works so bloody badly in a tax-payed system. I mean, it sounds like elective procedures to me.
