we call it all "clinical depression" "major depressive disorder" but there is a major difference inbetween A) someone can be just fine in life and do everything under the sun to help with the depression and still be depressed, a case where neurologically something is not cooperating and long term medication may be the solution and B) what im gonna call situational depression; depression induced by traumatic circumstances, by system causes, by enviornment, and which behavioral & prespective & lifestyle changes can lessen or get rid of the depression. medication may be needed in severe cases or to help jumpstart behavioral changes, but may not be needed long term

i think one of the most valuable things ive been learning is that u cant wait to get better to do things sometimes? I cant wait w schoolwork to b hit by the want or motivation or focus to do it or for some sense of purpose or commitment to hit again bc frankly it might not, i just gotta do it. i cant wait to feel less physically bad bc past a point of rest maybe how shit im feeling is the new baseline for my chronic illness and what am i gonna do? never do anything? gonna feel shit anyway may as well do. i cant wait to feel less depressed to engage w life again, bc ironically by not engaging w life it only further fueles the depression, so just gotta do it
