I'd say the fic I'm proudest of has got to be easily distracted, it's the first one I ever posted and the longest one. I honestly never expected it to get the love it did, so thank you all so so much for that!! I'm still working on chapter 6 I promise, the editing process sucks absolute ass but I'm getting through it bit by bit!!

I'm also quite proud of risk assessments, coffees, confessions and realisations. My first (and only so far!!) fanfic inspired by a piece of fanart. Also my first time writing any coming out scenes for either of them, Trevor as trans and Chris as ace. Trans!Trevor and ace!Chris mean so so much to me. I'm not a trans man myself but I am trans, and I'm not explicitly asexual but definitely on the ace spectrum somewhere, so it was surprisingly cathartic for me to write that one. Especially the ace thing, it's so weird to realise that this whole sexual attraction thing isn't a bit that everyone just plays along with, and it's so confusing, and being able to put a name to that feeling is such a relief and I wanted Chris to feel that too. (I could talk abt ace and potentially aro Chris for so so long lmao)

I've never made a playlist for any fic I'm afraid!! I have massive respect for people who do, I kinda wish I could tbh, my brain doesn't really associate music with my own fics? I've gotten into making character playlists (mainly for my own D&D characters though lol) but never for a fic. If anyone has any tips on how to go about making a playlist or has any recommendations, please let me know!!

(Hello it's Nox from twenty minutes later here and I've realised I'm a massive liar. There's one song that always makes me think of the end of chapter 4 of easily distracted, especially in earlier drafts when the Oh no moment happens in bed as Trevor watches Chris with the dim glow of the streetlight outside. The song is called In Cold Light by Vanbur, I listened to it practically on repeat while writing chapter 4 and use it to get inspired whenever I need to keep writing.

Additionally, I've been toying around with a little idea for a songfic to When You Were Young by the Killers, I was listening to it one sunny day and got such a clear image in my head and I've not been able to stop thinking about it.

There's also another WIP that sort of fits the vibe of Wrecking Ball by Mother Mother, but that's quite a while away from being posted (but still thought I'd include it!) Back to original Nox!!)

My favourite trope to write has to be pining!! Especially for christrev, in my head there's so so much pining and being idiots about how they feel about each other. Alternatively if I write sort of established QPR christrev (although we know they'd never call it that) I love me some domestic bliss. Knowing the other better than they know themselves, finishing each other's sentences, supporting the other silently, all that is my absolute SHIT. So basically complete opposite tropes lmao!! But evne in the pining, to me there's an element of them knowing each other so so well, knowing what the other is thinking. OH how could I forget looking after each other's injuries?? I never know what the trope name for that is, I guess the closest thing is whump and hurt/comfort? I love the characters so much, make them suffer, give them pain, and then give them comfort (comfort is the most important part of that!!)

Trevor paused. "Really? This?"

"Yep."

"Not my flirtatious banter? Not my rugged good looks? not the respect I have for you, not the work I've done at the CPDS for you over the years, not the fact I know you like I know the back of my hand, but—"

"Because you can correctly fold a fitted sheet. Not even correctly, by the way, just the way I fold them."

Trevor laughed. "You're a weird man, Chris Bean."

"But I'm your weird man, Trevor Watson."

"And I wouldn't have it any other way."

"You need to start feeling your feelings, Chris, for fuck's sake!"

"Stop saying that!"

"No! You deserve better! You deserve to feel everything to the fullest, that's what makes us human!"

Chris went terrifyingly still. He looked at Trevor, tears in his eyes. "What about love?"

"Love?"

"Love that's so big and scary I just can't feel it, or I'll explode."

Trevor's eyes softened as he reached out to put a hand on Chris' good shoulder. "Love's too big to be kept inside. Love's to be shared."

Chris stopped thinking about his heart hammering in his chest and leant in.

Trevor had always imagined Chris' lips would feel soft against Trevor's.

Chris let out a little sigh into Trevor's mouth before pulling away, holding Trevor's face in his hands, looking at him with sparkling eyes.

"Fuckin' hell Chris, where'd you learn to kiss like that?" Trevor said, out of breath.

Suddenly, he heard loud knocking. He awoke with a start. Annie was standing by the door to the tech box, her arms crossed, a smirk on her face.

"Having a nice dream of a certain someone?"

Trevor scrambled out from underneath the tech desk where he'd fallen asleep. "No."

"Sure."

"Didn't think I'd see you here this early."

Trevor looked up at Chris standing in the doorway of the workshop.

"Early?"

Chris raised an eyebrow. "Yes? It's 8:34 in the morning."

"Fuckin' hell," Trevor sighed. "Anyway, here's your roccoco table."

Chris stepped closer to it. "Wow, this is incredible! Where did you find it?"

"I, eh, made it."

"How long did that take you?"

"When did rehearsal finish yesterday?"

"6ish?"

"So… about 14 hours?"

Chris stared at Trevor, absolutely dumbfounded, as Trevor looked over his handiwork.

"Trevor?"

"Hm?"

"You're insane." Trevor laughed. Then, Chris continued. "Thank you."
