Hii!! For the drabble ask game (if you're still doing them, no worries if not!!)
5: I hate this.
14: I wanted to see you.
24: I'm terrified.
25: How long have you been out there?!
I'm a sucker for christrev (fork found in kitchen) but would be thrilled with any pairing/character you want to write! Thanks so much, and happy writing!!
I'VE DONE IT! MUAHAHAHA!
I decided to 1. combine 14 & 25 because my brain exploded with inspiration and 2. let the little drabbles be sort of open-ended, up for interpretation.
5: I hate this.
Trevor groaned dramatically. Chris and his stupid ideas were at it again. The stage manager dragged his feet as he made his way to the dressing rooms.
âPut this on.â Chris shoved a pile of clothes in Trevorâs arms, then darted off.
âChris, you know I hate this!â Trevor grumbled. Nevertheless, he complied, and went behind the wall of the other section of the room to put the costume on.
Miraculously, everything seemed to fit. It was much more than Trevor would ever normally put on, what with the chaps and vest and bandana and gloves. It was also way more colourful. Although, the light blue button up matched well with the red bandana. Trevor reluctantly shoved the hat on, figuring Chris would bitch about it if he didnât.
Hearing the click of the dressing room door, Trevor walked out.
âWoah.â Trevor froze in the doorway separating the two sections of the dressing room. Chris had come in with a full fancy ancient Roman outfit on. He looked stunning. Awkward and gangly as usual, yes, but he could have been straight out of a historical reenactment. Even his hair was curled slightly.
Chris clutched the absurdly large helmet at his side a little tighter.
âSurprise?â He shrugged, giving an uneasy smile.
Trevor pulled his hat off slowly.
âY-youâyou lookâŠâ he started. âYou lookâŠâ
Well, Trevorâs crush had come back tenfold. âFuck it.â
14: I wanted to see you. / 25: How long have you been out there?!
The rain had not let up a minute since the early afternoon. Now that it was well into the evening, Trevor resolved to let the rain carry him off to sleep. Heâd just throw on a random movie from his collection and pass out on the couch. Was it potentially going to wreck his back? Yeah, but falling asleep to rain and a movie would be worth it.
Just when Trevor had nearly decked out his couch with plenty of pillows and a warm blanket, the buzzer in his flat rang out.
âShit!â Trevor jumped up. His foot hit the couch, which pushed it an inch. âArgh! Fuck, mate!â
He staggered to the front door and yanked it open.
âChris?!â Trevor stared agape at his director in front of him.
Said director was soaked head to toe. His usually neat hair lay completely flat, sticking to any purchase of skin allowed.
Without thinking, Trevor pulled Chris inside, bringing him away from the rain that had been angled toward the front door.
âHow long have you been out there?!â Trevor inspected Chris over, brows knitting more and more every second. âShit, Chris, the fuck were you doing? The fuck were you thinking?â
Trevor ran for the linen closet to pull out some towels whilst keeping an eye on his director, who hadnât yet responded. Only after Trevor had begun wrapping Chris in towels did the man speak.
âI⊠I donât know. I wanted to see you.â
âFuck, Chris. You donât have to stand in the rain like a fucking movie character âfore you come over.â Trevorâs hands worked on autopilot, rubbing one of the towels into Chrisâs hair to dry it off.
The director hummed noncommittally.
âIâm making you a cuppa and youâre not going home.â
24: Iâm terrified.
âIâIâm terrified. What if something happens to you?â Trevor read out the script monotonously. He squinted at the words on the page, which started swimming this way and that.
Chris sighed from his spot downstage right. Trevor ignored it, his head already throbbing from the harsh spotlight. He quietly groaned in pain.
The director started saying something, but Trevor couldnât make it out. He assumed Chris had just continued the scene, so Trevor read out the next line.
âIâm not disâdiscerned for myself, âcause I can⊠er⊠âcause I can⊠âfendâfendâŠâ
A voice murmured something. Trevor tried to resume the line.
âTrevor.â Chris was right in front of him now, his voice soft and patient. The director gently pulled the script away. âTrevor. Stop. Whatâs wrong?â
âNo, I canâI can do it.â Trevor tried reaching for the script, but the way Chris pulled it up and shielded the stage manager from the spotlight gave him a welcome reprieve.
Chris turned to instruct someone of something, and the spotlight went out. He led Trevor into the wings and out of the house. âLet me do this for you.â Chris brought Trevor into his office for a well-deserved break. âIâll bring some tea and medicine. Donât move.â
Thank you so much for the drabble ideas! I know they're way more than 100 words, as is standard for CCIJC, but you can pry my love of writing long(er) pieces from my cold, dead hands. I can and will go Dumas on anything I write.
oh right
Chris has a grandfather named "Timothy Jameson"
I'm rewatching Mr. Bean at the 2012 London Olympics and I NEED to figure out a way to bring this into my Cornleyverse crossover
For the drabble game :D
1. âThis is why I love you so muchâ
4. âStop saying that!â
9. âHaving a nice dream of a certain someone?â
23. âDidnât think Iâd see you here this earlyâ
(Christrev where you fancy but Iâm obviously happy with whatever you wanna write because itâs always awesome!!)
Hiii! Thank you so much for the ask!! (And thank you for the lovely compliment, it absolutely made my day <3) Sorry for the delay, I somehow really struggled with prompt 4 but once I had an idea it was finished before I knew it lmao!
1.
"This is why I love you so much."
Trevor paused. "Really? This?"
"Yep."
"Not my flirtatious banter? Not my rugged good looks? not the respect I have for you, not the work I've done at the CPDS for you over the years, not the fact I know you like I know the back of my hand, butâ"
"Because you can correctly fold a fitted sheet. Not even correctly, by the way, just the way I fold them."
Trevor laughed. "You're a weird man, Chris Bean."
"But I'm your weird man, Trevor Watson."
"And I wouldn't have it any other way."
4.
"You need to start feeling your feelings, Chris, for fuck's sake!"
"Stop saying that!"
"No! You deserve better! You deserve to feel everything to the fullest, that's what makes us human!"
Chris went terrifyingly still. He looked at Trevor, tears in his eyes. "What about love?"
"Love?"
"Love that's so big and scary I just can't feel it, or I'll explode."
Trevor's eyes softened as he reached out to put a hand on Chris' good shoulder. "Love's too big to be kept inside. Love's to be shared."
Chris stopped thinking about his heart hammering in his chest and leant in.
9.
Trevor had always imagined Chris' lips would feel soft against Trevor's.
Chris let out a little sigh into Trevor's mouth before pulling away, holding Trevor's face in his hands, looking at him with sparkling eyes.
"Fuckin' hell Chris, where'd you learn to kiss like that?" Trevor said, out of breath.
Suddenly, he heard loud knocking. He awoke with a start. Annie was standing by the door to the tech box, her arms crossed, a smirk on her face.
"Having a nice dream of a certain someone?"
Trevor scrambled out from underneath the tech desk where he'd fallen asleep. "No."
"Sure."
23.
"Didn't think I'd see you here this early."
Trevor looked up at Chris standing in the doorway of the workshop.
"Early?"
Chris raised an eyebrow. "Yes? It's 8:34 in the morning."
"Fuckin' hell," Trevor sighed. "Anyway, here's your roccoco table."
Chris stepped closer to it. "Wow, this is incredible! Where did you find it?"
"I, eh, made it."
"How long did that take you?"
"When did rehearsal finish yesterday?"
"6ish?"
"So⊠about 14 hours?"
Chris stared at Trevor, absolutely dumbfounded, as Trevor looked over his handiwork.
"Trevor?"
"Hm?"
"You're insane." Trevor laughed. Then, Chris continued. "Thank you."
I hope you enjoyed! (Prompts are from this post and my asks are open!!)

7. âWill you please get in bed? Iâm cold.â
8. âYouâre obsessed with themâ
26. âItâs nice that your voice was the first thing Iâve heard todayâ
27. âYouâre up to somethingâ
28. âWhy are you being so nice?â
AAAAA THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ASK!! These were so much fun to write!! I hope you enjoy â€ïž
7.
"Will you please get in bed? I'm cold."
"Whaâ you're cold? No way! You're never cold!"
Chris laughed quietly, the rain pounding on the window outside. Trevor pulled his pyjamabottoms on before sliding under the covers.
"Fuck me, you are freezing! Come here, I'll warm ya up," Trevor said, opening his arms. Chris happily slid closer to him, soaking up Trevor's bodyheat.
"It's been years, why are you still surprised at how cold I am?"
"Just think you're being a bit dramatic most of the time. All you drama-types are the same."
"Shut up," Chris muttered fondly into his shoulder.
8.
"You're obsessed with him."
Chris straightened up. "Excuse me?"
Sandra laughed. "Trevor."
"I haven't a clue what you're talking about."
"Chris, it's so obvious, come on! You don't talk about anything other than whatever show we're working on and him."
Chris sighed. Maybe it's the alcohol, maybe it's the fact his oldest friend had finally pointed out what he's been thinking for a while now. He slumped over in his chair defeated, his face sinking into his hands. "What do I do?"
Sandra laughed, leaned over and pulled him into a hug. "You better tell him, before someone else does."
26.
Trevor awoke with a start. The loud scream coming from the living room sounded scarily familiar.
"Chris, you okay?!" He burst into the living room, faced with Chris (alive) hanging a picture on the wall.
"Oh sorry, did I wake you?"
"You screamed!"
"One of the pictures fell off the wall, gave me a bit of a fright." Chris took in Trevor's disheveled state. "And you as well it seems."
Trevor ran a hand across his face. "It's nice that your voice was the first thing I heard today," he muttered sarcastically before collapsing onto the couch to sleep further.
27.
"You're up to something."
"I don't know what you're talking â"
"Why the secrecy for this meeting?"
Chris closed the office door and sat down. "I⊠want to run an idea past you. A bad idea. I need someone to tell me it's a bad idea."
"And you thought I'd be the right person?"
"I want to break into the BBC."
"Right. Why?"
Before Chris started explaining with increasing desperation that if they were just given the chance to perform, they could do it right, Trevor had already decided he would absolutely help this ridiculous director with his more ridiculous plan.
28. "Why are you being so nice?" Trevor mumbled as Chris took his hand away from his feverish forehead.
Chris stilled. Was he being so nice? He thought he was doing the bare minimum, looking after his stage manager who'd showed up to a production meeting, shivers wracking his body.
"Is that so shocking to you? That I can be nice?"
"'S not what I meant. I meant, you're⊠different nice to me."
Chris chuckled. "I think that might be the fever talking." He walked into his kitchen and reached for the teabags he'd bought especially for when Trevor comes over.
I hope you enjoyed!! (Prompts are from this post and my asks are open!!)
