starting the countdown until gaylors start saying that Adam Sandler officiating Taylor's wedding (sorry if this is how you found out) is actually proof that it's a sham because it's a reference to I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007), in which Sandler and Kevin James play heterosexual men who enter a mutually beneficial fake gay marriage, a dynamic that Taylor is inverting as a queer woman pretending to be straight while cleverly flagging the obvious farce to those with the eyes to see
this is worst than finding out from a castiel meme
sight I saw in san francisco, twice: gaggle of tiny children leashed together being herded along, everyone in hi-vis
Getting down on my knees and thanking the humans who invented dishwashers and washing machines.
InsNe that dishwashers are more efficient and easier than just washing them manually but they also use less water. Itâs a win win situation
They ALSO sterilize dishes, due to operating at a far higher temperature than human hands could ever tolerate. It's a win every way.
Made this post about 15 minutes after the repair guy who fixed the pump on my dishwasher packed up his tools and left, as the dishwasher was whirring along doing my dishes from that morning.
He said the exact same thing, which I did not know before that, so spreading this knowledge.
Outdoor cat owners have no concept of basic ecology and it shows. "You're saying my kitty is EVIL for following its instincts???????" obviously not, you idiot, its an animal. I don't blame it because it is designed to hunt and doesn't understand human morality. The cat's human owner, though, should stop pretending that millions of people letting their pets hunt native species for fun WON'T make their ecossystem collapse. If you stop hearing birdsong in your neighborhood its your fault đ.
Also cats are domestic animals????? Its your pet. Its your responsability to take care of it and it certainly doesn't look like you are doing this if your pet spends 90% of the day on the streets. Outside cats are in great risk for being ran over, stolen, beaten, poisoned, mauled or eaten by wild animals. A mildly bored cat is way better than a dead one and besides? Just offer your pet enrichment. You don't need to risk its life to keep it happy. You can even let it outside with supervision!! Look how many options we have. Insisting the only way to keep your cat happy is allowing it to wreck the environment and possibly die is not only fucking irresponsible, but also lazy and shows that you don't really care for the wildlife around you.

Armor Legs designed by Victor Clavelly and Daniel Cheruzel (2023)
One of the guys I worked with told us a story about how, when they were doing archaeology surveys in the woods they ran into a bigfoot hunter. Bigfoot guy asked if they had seen signs of bigfoot, and he was like "Sorry, nothing like that. We're archaeologists, so we're looking for human stuff." and the bigfoot guy was like "Oh! I saw some Native American cairns on my way out here. I can give you a general location." and when he was like "Yeah dude, that'd be sick. We're actually looking to document those." the bigfoot guy was like "Yeah, they looked pretty cool. I didn't touch them though, because Native Americans built them, not bigfoot."
I apologize in advance for the "haha I misread this and thought..." but in all seriousness for two readthroughs I legit thought this was a story about an archeology survey team in the woods who ran into bigfoot and had a nice chat with him about his day and didn't bother to take pictures or document anything because they're only interested in human stuff, not in cryptids, but bigfoot was also nice enough to direct them to some native american cairns, which he did not build.
Many archeologists are former girl scouts so it makes sense
thank you for making art with me

I'm reading a study on how nurses define the term 'drug seeking', and what makes them more likely to put the 'drug-seeker' label on a patient's charts and. well. let me just throw down some quotes
"Needy, unable to cope" (<- you try coping with chronic pain)
"Comfort seeking" (<- you mean.. having a preference for not being in pain.. how criminal)
"Using or trying to obtain drugs on a long-term, chronic base" (<- do you understand what 'chronic pain' means.)
"Asking for pain med then returning to sleep."
"States heâs level 10 pain, but does not appear to be in pain (or â5= on appearance)." (<- it is well-known that chronic pain patients tend not to display pain in the same way as acute pain patients)
"Dramatic response to pain" (<- notice how this directly contradicts the comment above. you cannot win)
"Gets IV med, then leaves unit to smoke or walk around" (<- wow requiring medication and then going off to do something you needed pain meds to be able to do is so suspicious)
the article itself put it best when it says: âsome comments depict patients trying to apply sound pain management principles, such as continuing to take medication for persistent painâ. no wonder all the other literature on the matter says that women of colour are the most likely group to be labelled drug-seeking. this shit is entirely vibes-based (read: based on the prejudices of nurses and doctors)
I'm doing the last bits of this project.
Securing everything in place.
Miniature rings and nails.
And tiny bows.
I'm making a 1/12 scale Delft themed room, full of Delft Blue and Vermeer's paintings.
All I have to do now is decorate the shelving on the left.
someone accused me of feigning a sexual attraction to spiders for clout. there's easier ways to get clout, man.....
Someone once called my 22 minute hand sewn 18th century buttonhole tutorial video "Empty, clout driven content" so I think some people will just say anything.
Had a soul-searing moment where I sat unblinking trying to figure out what a "hand sewn 18th century butthole" could be for, until I read that again.

"drug seeking" as a patient label one of the most dogshit stupid concepts of all time. fuuuck everybody look out this guy came in here expecting medical treatment. better watch out in case he goes to a restaurant and starts food seeking
All these tourists having a great time at the World Cup isn't surprising b/c the first rule of America is that this place rules if you have money to blow and it's a nightmare if you don't. The prohibitively high cost of attending the World Cup filtered out all the ppl who don't have money so all the people who actually made it to the U.S. are basically guaranteed to have fun

ok i am indoors for a heat wave break with my gatorade and my air conditioning the ACTUAL PROBLEM with "cut everything that doesn't move the plot forward" is that it was never meant to be the actual advice. the actual advice is that everything in the story should serve a purpose, and that is a distinction that i think a lot of modern editors, let alone members of the modern audience, fail to grasp.
this IS one of the craft discussions that got me yelled at on fandom twt because of the exact same misunderstanding. there are MANY ways for a scene to serve a story that have nothing to do with driving a plot, because plot itself is only one element of story. anyone who has not yet developed an understanding of story beyond "fictional events, described in order" might hear "everything in the story should serve a purpose" and parse it as "cut everything that doesn't move the plot forward" but, at the risk of being a pretentious bitch, that's never what the serious people were saying. in lrb example of far from the madding crowd four pages of a guy standing in a freezing sheep field at midnight watching the stars sticks with op because it serves the story without driving the plot. and a lot of those old books are classics that we still study to this day because (among other reasons) it is worth taking the time to sit with those scenes and ask ourselves what their purpose is, what they're doing there, how they work.
op is still thinking about gabriel oak in that field. why?
I started thinking about that one post about how from dogs POV humans are beings that live like 500+ years (because I was petting my dog and I was looking at her like âthirty thousand years of cooperation have led to this. our species have spent 30k years building up to the point where you, child of wolf, descendant of noble hunters and wild things, Â would come all the way out of the office and come sit with me in the hopes of letting a souped up monkey rub its paws on youâ)
and then I thought about what it must have been like for the first humans to let a fucking wolf, maybe only a few generations from the wild, behold their infant child. Like man can u believe that? Maybe this alliance is only a few years old and sure youâve seen the wolfâs kids but now youâve got one of your own. And even though youâve seen this wolf tear out the throats of creatures that could kill you, this wolf is your family. This wolf is your friend, you love them and they love you and you gotta show âem the new kid, look, friend, I had a child. I know you are wild and dangerous, but look at this, my most precious thing, sniff him, give him a lil lick, his children and your children will be bound together for thirty thousand fucking years because I love you
Thereâs a set of  preserved footprints from 30k years ago that is a young child and a wolf standing side by side can you fucking imagine? Maybe the kidâs mom was like âhey go get some water from the stream, but take the wolf with you. I trust him, he will protect you.â
