my 130x130cm tiger quilt!

the quilts represents a big tiger sleeping, with a baby tiger nestled in their tail. The baby tiger is looking at a butterfly. The colored fabric is minky (a fluffly kind of texture, very soft), and inside is a thick layer of quilting fleece. All materials are polyester.

independent living centers provide services and support by disabled people for disabled people and can help with: navigating systems, self-advocacy, and accessing services, among many other things. in their truest form, CILs function not in the model of state agencies, but as a form of structured in-community mutual aid. my local CIL provides services like counseling, advocacy, grants to cover some home needs, and meals on wheels for disabled adults under sixty-five. CILs can't fill all the gaps in services we have in this country, but they do important work to keep people alive. if you need help, your local center for independent living may be able to help. if you can give help, your local center for independent living can definitely use your help!!!!!

you really do see it everywhere after a certain point. the most prominent thing is definitely like you said how other lesbians treat butches existence in relation to femmes* and so everything after that comes as a result of this way of thinking. the objectification the stereotypes so on and so forth. it's why posts from femmes idealizing not ever lifting a finger and having a butch just doing everything them leave a bad taste in my mouth. not to mention masculine women constantly get unsolicited sexual comments. you see it on here all the time and just a few days ago I saw a stud r&b singer and people could not stop bringing up straps. just bc she existed...?

I feel like some people get a little butthurt if you bring up this behavior because they're like Oh well I as a lesbian am not allowed to be attracted to butches now? and it's like well nobody said that... you just need to be like. normal. and respectful. you obviously can be a femme and like butch4butch because you're a lesbian. duh. but it's not unreasonable for people to feel upset or annoyed when it feels like their very real preferences are being reduced to a fetish

yeah femmes get all the same bullshit just with the stereotypes and expectations for femininity instead. I have seen some insano style posts from both butches and femmes just weirdly policing behaviors. both their own identities and the others. and when it comes to femme4femme some people get very nasty for no reason just because of a few annoying tiktok commenters or something. the only thing I think is relatively unique to the butches treatment though is that their identity is invalidated a lot quicker than a femmes is for relatively menial crap. but in both cases there are people whose perceptions of gender presentation are fascinatingly normative and start acting weird when someone doesn't fit into it. I hope we know the main reason I don't talk about this as much is just bc well it's not the part I've been privy to as much as the other not that it doesn't exist or anything
