Wait how will there be gambling under communism if we don't have money?
your concern about communism is ... lack of gambling?
Hereâs the new 24 hour comic I drew this year! This one is called THE KINGâS FOREST. cw: blood, violence
I donât understand this ending
The ending is designed to make sense if you experience a reveal, but the reveal is wordless. The king calls the ranger to âcome kill the beast,â implying that he wants the ranger to kill the girl.
However, the ranger has the following information about the beast:
It has black claws.
It has a red coat.
It has 10-pointed yellow horns.
It hunts children for fun.
It jealously guards the resources of the forest.
It doesnât look like an animal.
It is cruel.
It is bad.
The ranger looks at the king and notices that:
The king wears black gloves.
He wears a red cape.
He wears a gold crown with points.
Further, through the story we understand:ÂĽ
He has beaten up a fairly small child.
Her job description is to guard the resources on the kingâs behalf.
The beast can take a unexpected form.
It is monstrous (beastly) to ask your employee to execute a child.
Her boss is the real bad guy!!
She replies âI will (kill the beast)â and fires the arrow. We donât see who she is firing at, but it is implied that she has realized that the king is the beast.
The creator has framed the reveal so that the reader and the ranger come to the same conclusion at the same time. They have deliberately chosen to leave the ending ambiguous - they are not showing the result of the choice. This creates tension. It also means that readers who didnât get the reveal might be confused and try again, experiencing understanding and satisfaction when they trip the mechanism. Readers like the feelings they get from activating a reveal. Creators like it when people pay attention (the closer the better) to their work.
The note of tension at the end is a deliberate choice. Itâs common to seek & consume content as a stimulant. (Many people scroll social media in search of various forms of activation and stimulation. Tension is a good stimulant; finding it is rewarding, and the emotion itself can make people feel perked up.) This ending will be considered perfectly sufficient & enjoyable, and the comic will resonate with people.
So you are the bitch who said the end was ambiguous.
Get off your high horse or the arrow might be coming for you since itâs going upward
Itâs a beautiful day in the forest and I am a horrible swan
Today my 5-year-old child wandered over, read and processed the entire comic over my husbandâs shoulder, pegged the king as the beast, understood the implication of leaving the ending ambiguous, said, âhaha! Thatâs a good way to do it,â and wandered off. Therefore proving, exactly two years later, that a reasonably well-raised child can process information better than some people on tumblr
*places an orange just outside a fairy ring to see what comes out* science is more of an art than a science
*the orange grows legs and skitters away*
Fascinating results *places a banana in the same spot*
*clawed hand reaches out of the ether and drags it into the ring, leaving ragged claw marks in the soil as it disappears, back into the ether from whence it came*
âletâs go to the extreme.â *places a pineapple in the same spot*
Real scientists would keep putting an orange in the same spot to make sure the results are consistent before moving on to other fruits or different spots.
The only valid response to this post.
Weâre working up the complexity levels of fruit until we feel there is enough evidence to support the judicious placement of a volunteer twink
You sit down, we havenât seen whatâs happened to the pineapple
This is Tumblr; weâve ALL seen what happened to the pineapple. O_O
Weâd show you the post, but Tumblr sensored the entire thing including every single reblog. I mean i can sum it up by saying @wereâralph âs warewolf boyfriend, but you really really had to be there to understand, and Iâm just not sure itâs something those who get the joke can describe. That said, youâre probably better off not knowing if this didnât jog some deeply hidden memory.
Iâm always pleased when wereâralph has been summoned and shows up accordingly đ
I was expecting the final video to feature Rosamund Pike and her strangely hypnotising method of eating a pineapple with her bare hands.
(I canât possibly be the only one)
God I am sick and tired of people uwu-washing indigenous American history.
Did the Inca have exquisite building techniques, efficient messengers, and quality waterworks? Yes. They were also an expansionist empire built on violent conquest and the splitting up and relocating of conquered peoples.
Did the Aztecs have a gorgeous capital city built at the heart of a lake, with floating farms and towering temples honoring their fascinating pantheon? Yes. Guess what tho. They were also a violent expansionist empire who practiced ritual sacrifice of prisoners of war.
The Iroquois confederacy had one of the most unique representative political systems Iâve ever heard of, with women taking a forefront in most local government matters too. But their internal peace allowed them to redirect violence to their neighbors, as so often happens with tribal confederations, and they eventually violently conquered the Ohio valley and destroyed or displaced dozens of other indigenous groups.
Even my beloved Cahokia has the graves of sacrifice victims amidst its ruins.
A society should not need to be (and fundamentally cannot be) squeaky clean unproblematically stannable in order to be worth studying and remembering, and pretending that they were is no less disinformative than the European accounts painting them as godless savages.
Likewise, a society does not need to be ethically pure for violent conquest and subjugation of that society to be ethically monstrous.
Also, a person is not the society they come from, and the moral deserts of that society (or its military, or its ruling class) should not be confused for theirs. The average Aztec civilian may have been complicit in some loose way in their state's imperialism, as the average Japanese civilian was in their military's atrocities in China, as the average American was in the invasion and occupation of Iraq, but no one with a scrap of moral sense would say that's enough to judge that each deserves to be murdered or enslaved. Moctezuma may have been a brutal imperialist cut from the same cloth as the conquistadors who killed him, but the same is not true of the hundreds of thousands of his subjects who died in the Spanish conquest.
The uwu-washing is obviously a response to centuries of colonialist propaganda painting indigenous peoples as violent, bloodthirsty savages who needed to be exterminated, or at best to have their culture wiped from existence and replaced with a carbon copy of Christian values.
uwu-washing is preferable to justifications for genocide, but it's ultimately making the same mistake: Reducing entire societies to a caricature far too broad to encapsulate an individual, let alone a continent's worth of cultures.

Hey can you guys reblog Cheeseburger so he can take a sunbeam nap on lots of blogs. No other reason I just want you guys to see him.
So, Cheeseburger died on November 21st after an unfairly short battle with an unfairly rare cancer that is rarely seen in cats. I only got to spend a month with him after his diagnosis, and losing him has been the greatest heartbreak of my entire life so far. He was my best friend and my soul cat, and he was there for me when I was completely alone, for twelve long years.
I made this transparent PNG the night he died in preparation for one of the many ways I was going to memorialize him--a surface rug in his likeness that I planned on laying directly in the line of his favourite sunbeam. And I uploaded that PNG here, because this is the website where people post their cats.
I was not expecting the reception I got. Many people have pointed out that this post has more reblogs than likes, and how insane that is in 2025 when reblog culture is at an all time low. I didn't even talk about the fact that Burger passed away in the original post, it wasn't a tearjerker reblog bait or anything like that. People just loved Burger that much, in the same way I fell in love with him at first sight. He was such an ugly kitten.
Anyways, it's really special to me that so many people have reblogged my best friend. I made this PNG to memorialize him in a completely different way, and you all wound up doing just that in ways I never even imagined.
Thank you. Wherever he is, I know the sun is shining.
iâm obsessed with the mum from ponyo. driving single lane on a cliff edge? drift those turns in your nissan cube. husband has to work an extra shift? tell him to fuck off in morse code. pet fish turned into a child on your driveway? adopt her. town drowned in a tsunami? leave your 5 year old in charge, heâs the man of the house now
ideal woman to me and i am not kidding
SHE SHOULD BE AT THE CLUB
I donât think the club could handle her
The BEST trope is when a character tells another âletâs run away together, we can leave all of this behind and start a new life somewhereâ and gets rejected. And then the rest of the tragedy unfolds
Good news: if youâre currently laying around and not producing anything, you are a credit to your species.
Itâs recently been found that even hive insects rest. Bees will play with colorful toys. Ants sleep for about 1 minute but they do it so frequently it amounts to a few hours per day. Even trees take breaks.
The only things that work without rest are machines; literally everything that lives requires rest.
EVERYTHING THAT LIVES REQUIRES REST. STOP JUDGING YOURSELF FOR NOT BEING A ROBOT.
robots require very frequent breaks! welding machines generally have it programmed in that they canât run so long they melt themselves. ive overseen two different manufacturing robots now and each of them were fragile, finicky idiots that require constant maintenance and repair. they pause in between moves, in between jobs. youâre always keeping an eye on programming errors, on coolant levels, on heat. youâre always pulling bits of scrap out of joints, sweeping up debris, washing off nozzles and untangling hoses. and even then it snaps a chain and takes a whole morningâs vacation.
even robots need downtime.
i, a rock collector, had to go to the ER yesterday because of a gallstone attack, here is how my father messaged me
thanks dad

Okay guys, weâve got to wrap it up now with the monsterfucking and find something new to do. Itâs getting write-ups in GQ, itâs so over.
Sometimes, in their obsession with monsters, humans end up finding other humans. In 2019, CachĂŠt developed a crush on Salad Fingers, the main character in a British cult web cartoon. She drew porn of Salad Fingers and sent it to David Firth, the showâs creator. Firth loved it and followed her back. âHe thought I was a guy because no girl would draw porn of Salad Fingers,â CachĂŠt says.
They started messaging. CachĂŠt complimented his drawing of a human-bug threesome and asked for a print. Three years later, CachĂŠt and David got married. The human-bug threesome drawing hangs on the wall of their home.
Okay this does kind of rule though.
