I highly doubt that even if PM complies to everything PMUA demands them to do, the people who left will come back.
Bridges have been burned and as this drags on, people will only grow less interested in the fandom because they’ve moved on to something else, or your old passion just goes cold since there’s nothing to keep your interest up besides the terrible situation we’re in right now.
All that’ll really be left are spite and disappointment towards PM at the end of all this, even if they manage to correct their mistake perfectly like how the PMUA wanted. If we get the 4 asks that PMUA has made, then I think people will say “we beat the evil capitalists and now we can leave in peace”
And well, a handful of people who come back for a while probably won’t be staying (but who knows?). Limbus Company is a live service game. If you miss a month, that’s not a big deal. Two months? Ok, you’re missing a number banners now. Three months? Now you’ve missed a lot of banners and events now. Four months? Yeah, that’s like a whole season.
I’m saying four months here because it took KJH almost 2 months to issue a statement that is actually an apology. Either you think it holds up or not doesn’t change how it still is an apology, and it’s better than anything we’ve gotten so far. I can only imagine it’ll take even more months for this situation to completely wrap up. Heck, I don’t even think it’ll be over this year lol
Anyway, getting back to what I was saying, you’ll never really get back into the game once you’ve missed too much content. Your account is simply too far behind the people that kept playing. I guess some people wouldn’t care about that, but I think after long period of disdain for the company, then seeing an account that’s behind in progress, I would lose motivation to continue playing. I will probably come back for a month then drop the game.
So yeah, I feel the state of the fandom now will remain the same, regardless of the end result, which makes me sad. I remember the early days of Limbus and how everyone loved the April Fools event. I remember my feed full of fanarts. Now it’s nothing but the controversy, and so many talented artists left the fandom.
Man, I ended up doomposting so much. Really this whole situation has me pretty depressed, and I’ve not been able to stop thinking about how much better it was before July 25th. Still tho, I’ll hold onto hope that things only gets better from here.
