Shouldn't it be required that new school books come out say, maybe every 5 years? Cause my history book is comin up on 7 years out of date and there are definitely more things I should be learning about that are happening /now compared to the same history I've been studying since I could pack a lunch. The presidents, their policies, that's totally important, but do I have any idea why the government shut down randomly last year? Or do I know why this country still refuses to offer free education, insurance, or healthcare? Do I even know a goddamn thing about anything in our history? Anything that actually matters? And don't even get me started on what they consider "important reforms" to include in the books, cause I can assure you less than 10% of them are on women's issues or even about women at all. They talk about how far we've come as a nation but I still get asked when I want to get married rather than what I want to do with my life, and we still have an immensely increasing national debt, and we /still get fucked over tuition fees and medical bills and fucking bullshit traffic tickets! I'm sick and tired of living in the U.S. is probably where I'm going with this. Fuckin sick cause I can't afford treatment without losing my house and tired because I'm forced to go to school for years and years (also using all my money) so that I can survive this economy that only ends up shitting all over me. Just tell me what is the fucking point.
