Book!Grace is so snarky. He's endearing, but also prickly. Like, THIS guy would definitely tell someone off in a fit of pique. Sometimes I feel like I can feel him pouting. He reads like controlled chaos to me. And I feel like there's a low grade thrum of exasperation in him all the time. My dude wants to smack his students fuckass parents with a nickel filled sock. Also he often went bar for bar with Stratt (which I think is part of why he became her second). He stood ten toes down when he needed.

Movie!Grace is much more Hot Smart Loser Nerd. He's funny moreso in how he reacts to different situations. He makes me feel protective. He's a softer more anxious version (soft, not weak) who doesn't feel like he's got as many city miles on him as Book!Grace does. THIS guy would absolutely befriend a spider crab in two seconds flat. He feels much more gentle and accessible.

Grace is dragged up and down, east and west by Stratt and he's like "yeah, another tuesday"

How whenever she's about to do something questionable like kidnapping another scientist (Dr. Lokken) he's like "you'll get use to it."

How the movie pulls this but switched it, when Grace is firstly meets the crew and Yao says "he talks like a kid", and Stratt is like "you'll get use to it." Then followed by her telling him "you are doing great."

How once again when Stratt is about to do something questionable, like nuking the Antarctic and she says something like "I dont care about morality" and he's like "yeah, she doesn't".

And just the way they gravitated towards each other, she only smiles when he's with her, he goes to look for her whenever he feels uncomfortable in a room and after seeing people flirting. How they work together in separate stuff.

Fine. My tortured souls are allowed naps. In transit. Because they are so exhausted. :)
