I just realized this is why Natasha flip-flopped between being a boring, monotone husk of a character – whose range of emotion was limited to a stare and a smirk – in Avengers and someone with an actual personality, who joked, panicked, cried, grieved Fury and felt pain in CA: Winter Soldier…
