TOM HIDDLESTON in THOR 2011. Dir. Kenneth Branagh.
Just saw on Quora a guy asking if Poland was more German or Russian and every reply was a Polish guy detailing the ways they wanted to kill him
For all the Loki fans who need it - I’ll just post this as a remainder that God/dess of Stories never dies, and the stories never die. (a heartfelt thank you to Al Ewing and Lee Garbett). Not all canon is shitty canon :) and even if it was, there’s always a confusion of Lokis in the fandom hive mind, being worshipped the way they deserve.
Considering the possibility of Holmes being related to the Addams Family, probably on Morticia's side for the Frenchness
Primarily based on these images
But also because I want Holmes and Morticia to speak French, and for him to fence with Gomez, and teach the kids about poisons and criminals
(The family all adore Watson and find him absolutely fascinating, of course)
“Here’s a letter for you, old man,” I announced as I sifted through the morning post one grey day in October. “Not a lot else, I’m afraid.”
Holmes folded down the top of the newspaper he was reading so he could see me. “A letter from whom?”
“Not sure.” I turned it over to study it as best I could. The envelope was thick and expensive, postmarked from America. The ink was rich and black, and it smelled unexpectedly floral, with an odd sulphuric note underneath. “Looks to be a woman’s writing, I’d say.”
“If you would.” He held out a pale hand. I passed him the envelope and he neatly sliced it open with his pocket knife. A single page slipped out onto his breakfast plate. He unfolded it with a flick of his wrist, then smiled. “Ah! Morticia.”
“Morticia?”
“Addams. She is my second cousin.”
I was immediately intrigued, for Holmes so rarely talked about his relatives. It had taken several years after our meeting for him to bring up the subject of his elder brother, who lived and worked barely an hour’s walk away. I wasn’t surprised that a second cousin in America had gone unnoted until now.
“Unusual names run in the family, I see.”
Holmes smirked. “Her grandmother was my great-aunt Séraphine, who met and married a quite singular gentleman named Algernon Frump while travelling. They settled over in the States many years ago, and dear Morticia now resides there with her husband.”
“Why does she write you?”
“She is arranging a sort of family reunion on All Hallow’s Eve. Apparently it has been far too long since we have all seen each other.”
“How long is that?”
“Several years at least. It was certainly before you and I met.”Â
“And will you oblige her?”
“I suppose I will.” He folded the letter and placed it neatly back in its envelope, tucking it into his inside pocket. “You’ve been angling for a holiday, my boy. Would this satisfy you?”
“Wouldn’t it be terribly rude?” I asked, startled. “She has invited you, not me.”
He tutted. “Nonsense, Watson! Morticia knows we live together, of course.”
“How?”
“She will have read your book.”
“Oh! Well that is kind of her. But a family reunion, Holmes, I am not—”
“You are my partner and intimate friend. I assure you there are members of the Addams clan with far more tenuous connections, and many of them also of no blood relation. You will not be out of place, and they will be glad to meet you.”
Ohhhh I love this ❤️ I also love the idea that Holmes is actually the most normal out of all his living relatives

This is the infamous Judging Snek. He is believed to be Loki in disguise and is very rare. Reblog for clear skin since he only appears once in an hour (very rare!) to judge you and stab Thor.
I've been away for so long that maybe I deserve to be judged.

Serotonin's primary function is digestive, and we're starting to think dopamine might have digestive leanings as well, so this is true in both IBS and depression ways.
I was reading about the Wild Hunt and how apparently, Odin Allfather was a typical father in that he refused to ask for directions during his annual Yule ride through the night sky, and instead of turning his fun, flying sleigh around or taking a slightly different route, he’d just plow on through the same route he always took, regardless of who or what was in his way.Â
And if your house or land WAS in his way, he STILL wouldn’t reroute. He’d just burn the house down instead.
Which is THE funniest thing I have read in years. And it just got funnier when I pictured the whole thing turning into a buddy road trip with Loki and Odin and Sleipnir, and voila, a wild comic appeared.
(File those two kids under unimpressed.jpg.)
'Tis the season, again.

just a heads up to my fellow writers out there that AO3 is currently fighting off bots commenting on people’s works to tell them that AO3 will delete their fics “due to the works being deprecated”, and the deletion will affect their accounts unless the authors delete the fics themselves first. IT IS A SCAM. AO3 will NOT delete your works. please do NOT fall for these bots!
I’ve been told the reason why these bots are doing this is due to copyright infringement issue where they’re trying to steal your works (possibly to train AI but this is just a guess) ‼️‼️‼️and once you deleted your fics, it will be either very difficult or impossible for you to claim ownership of your own fics when they were already deleted.‼️‼️‼️
a reminder that AO3 will never contact you through your comments section (in case they claim to be one of the moderators). AO3 will only contact you through your email address which you use to register your account, and it will be from AO3’s official handle. not some sketchy ass @
so if you get a comment telling you you should “delete your works to protect your account because AO3 is doing blah blah blah” report that comment. don’t delete your works.
PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAM.
AO3 IS NOT DELETING WORKS.
DO NOT DELETE YOUR WORKS JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE CLAIMS THEY KNOW SOMETHING.

"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you 🙄" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence
they did the research in the first place because they believed you and wanted to tell people about it. they are not our enemies.
Additionally, consider information bubbles and confirmation bias. How do we know that "anyone" would have *actually* told you that? It's easy enough to cherry-pick certain voices to confirm views. You can certainly find plenty of women who don't believe misogyny exists, for example.
Sometimes you may not even go into something with the intention of cherry picking, but subconsciously just lean towards the folks who agree or only have access to certain voices. You may end up with the conclusion that basically everyone in a group has had a certain experience, and those who haven't are outliers or possibly lying.
For example, imagine a white doctor trying to figure out if medical racism is a thing or what it looks like. If they don't know many non-white people, how do they figure out the prevalence, whether it's just a few racist doctors somewhere or a widespread issue? If they can ask for the opinions of some of their non-white colleagues or friends, there is nothing to say that those opinions will match up with most of their patients. Also, will people sugarcoat something for fear of upsetting their friend/ coworker? This hypothetical doctor needs studies!**
This can even happen when you are a member of the group in question. Even if you have a large social circle with other members of that group, it will often be confined by stuff like location and common language, as well as other things you might not consider (education level, age, income, etc.). It's hard to know what is just a trend true for you and your friends, and what is a trend for the group as a whole. Again, we need studies!
**Note: I fully acknowledge that scientific studies can also have flaws and limits. But good studies will try and account for many of the biases I talked about, limit themselves to conclusions they can actually support, and will detail methods so you can get a sense of the scope of the study.
