Hi everybody. You can call me Cady. This is a hetGNC-centric Choices: Stories You Play blog.

The OG High School Story trilogy is my favorite Choices/Pixelberry title. Aiden Zhou is my favorite Love Interest. I love to post about other stories too, but most of my stuff will be about HSS.

I really want to stress how important it is to remember the importance of trans gnc people. I've noticed as it becomes a very reoccurring issue in discussions.

GNC trans people have to juggle with both facets of their identity. That naturally makes it extremely difficult to exist in GNC spaces that are transphobic, and trans spaces that are GNCphobic. The concept of a Masculine woman and a feminine man is not normally considered, it is malefically essentialized to "man" or "woman" as a result of its assumed proximity.

It is not acceptable in this community to essentialize the experiences of transness to gnc. They can be similar in many ways, but not the same. It's crucial to respect the journeys of trans gnc people as standalone.

Im not trans but I know I have no authority to speak over a trans virago if she speaks. She's going to have a harder time going into masculinity than all of us here because of how the world views trans women. I would assume the same goes for trans mollis men (which I know are the target of harassment campaigns)

Listen, I understand being curious about celebrities' lives. If you see a celebrity doing a bunch of gay things you might think "hey, maybe that artist is queer" but that's as far as it should go. You should never harass, or threaten, or force anyone to come out. That is fucking disrespectful and wrong. Queerness is about including anyone who feels that they do not fit into normal society, there is no one way of being queer. I also think that the strength gap is at least partially manufactured women would in fact be stronger overall if little girls were encouraged to do physically taxing games and activities and eat their fill while they’re growing vs having to constantly diet and be sedentary indoors (or god forbid do intense cardio while under-eating). The amount of adult women honestly afraid to lift weights bc they think they’ll get bulky as though bulking isn’t a full time job that athletes have to spend all their time on and anyone on earth gets shredded from just using their adult muscles for their intended purpose, girl your bone density 🥀

it’s also something we can empirically demonstrate following the passage of title ix in the US. making sports available to the entire population instead of just the male part has substantially increased the *standards* for female athletes, as records get set and broken

this is particularly visible at the olympics, where the US women’s team is a powerhouse:

U.S. female athletes are on pace to win more medals than U.S. male athletes for the fourth consecutive Summer Games.

you can see it in things like american ninja warrior, where the more visible women are as competitors, the more women compete, and the better they do

ultimately gender is much less of a determinant of athletic capacity than height and weight, and there’s no body type that women have that men don’t also have (and vice versa). this is one of the reasons why the bans on trans athletes are so infuriating, because we could have easily just eliminated gender segregation instead
