day 200 - it is sort of crazy how yuka acts towards her fans (1, its just maki kuwana) considering the whole prince of women thing but like thats none of my business anymore she can do whatever she wants
(Re: that air filter study where they didn't even actually turn them on because "it might be disruptively loud!")
Lots of drama in our household

also not being transmisogynistic in response to transmisandry isn't taking the high road. you're just not being transmisogynistic
So for the record because I've seen sooooo many phm posts going around using slurs. Yes, people in the intersex community are aware that hermaphrodite is used in biological contexts to mean "animal that produces both male and female gametes." Yes, it's still a slur in that context, and was adopted in biological circles from its usage as a slur. The word has been used as a slur against intersex people since at least the 14th century. It came into use in biological contexts in the 18th century. This is a word that spent 400 years being used as a slur before it was used to mean an animal that produces two types of gametes.
Yes, Eridians only have one sex. I obviously don't speak for the entire intersex community, but the terms that intersex advocates suggest using alternatively are "cosexual" or "monoecious." Both of these terms describe organisms with male and female reproductive organs, or which produce both male and female gametes. If you're in the camp where you think Eridians only produce one type of gamete, an appropriate term would be "isogamistic."
We don't use the r-slur to refer to people with intellectual disabilities, despite the fact this was the commonly accepted medical term for many, many years. It was used in medical contexts. It was used in American federal law until 2009. The language has changed. Please be kind to your fellow fandom members and use a term to refer to Eridians that does not have a history as an intersexist slur.
Cannot believe there’s fucking defence of AGAB-only spaces going on in the transandrophobia tag. It’s disgusting, because we don’t need to be perpetuating transmisogyny to speak on the issues that affect us. (And also perpetuating things which harm trans men considering we aren’t universally accepted into
The reaction to there being a group of people who’ve decided to dismiss the claims of and harass any and all people who claim to have been harmed individually by a trans woman is not to start throwing transmisogyny around. You’re just hurting people because you’re hurting. And by roping the idea of transandrophobia into your transmisogynistic crash out you give people more reason to dismiss the harm we go through—including the harm you yourself want recognized.
Even more broadly, AGAB-segregated and gender-segregated spaces are not trans-friendly in general and are broadly exorsexist and intersexist. They rely on the idea that you're less safe around people because of an assignment at birth or because of their gender. Neither of those things inherently predisposes someone to being more dangerous; no that's not how statistics work.
I just want to let you guys know Cornell's entire library is open access (no permissions required) and there are (shocker) many books...
Trapezoid sounds like a slur against circus performers.

an annoyance of being anti psych i don’t see people talk about enough is how pro psychs will type “rebuttals” to your arguments that are paragraphs upon paragraphs long and you’ll read them (or try to at least) and it’s literally all the exact same talking points you’ve already heard before and you just think to yourself “yknow if youre just gonna say exactly what everyone else before you has already told me hundreds of times you could at least make it easier for me to read”
hope this isn't derailing but you've also perfectly described the exact experience of talking about anti-transmasculinity on this site as well
daily yuka doodle day 199 - ugly :(
white trans men co opting AAVE and black fashion/mannerisms because they subconsciously associate blackness with masculinity.
white trans women co opting Japanese culture because they subconsciously associate Asian people with femininity.
check y’all’s racism and treat people of color better, especially transgender people of color -sincerely a black trans fem nonbinary
The reason transgender men are very upset at the idea of being called simply "men" is the same way you can't say "masculinity" when referring to female masculinity.
"Masculinity is always rewarded" Incorrect, women are encouraged to be feminine, not masculine, female masculinity is a marginalized version of masculinity.
We live in an incredibly cissexist world where "man" as a term has a subtext of "cisgender" meaning the context of discussion being a transgender man is important and incredibly relevant.
surprisingly forward-thinking of jim henson and co. to make a female character in the 70's that's allowed to be loud-mouthed and violent and kind of overwhelmingly romantic and even a huge bitch at times and not have a moment where any character asks her to change
going through all the muppet movies in a row made me realize that like. miss piggy was made in the 70's. and it's so rare even today to have a character like her. she's loud, she's selfish, she's funny, she's extremely vain, she's obsessed with romance, she's violent, she's kind of annoying, and there's not a single moment in any of these films where she's asked to tone down any of these personality traits. i am not joking when i say that miss piggy might be one of the best treated female characters ever written

psa i've been seeing people say "the tmes need to 'all lives matter' everything relating to trans women" and i think it needs to be said that it is unbelievably inappropriate to compare a group that includes demographics already pushed into being associated with whiteness [trans folks who are imposed female] to whiteness. this is just furthering narratives dangerous for Black trans people. so even if you're all for using tma and tme, don't do that.
you don't have to be trans of gender to fall under the transgender umbrella. like if it bothers you you can call yourself cis and still be within the community and still have your positionality. none of that shit matters
