Happiness In An Imperfect Place

Well i think I've hit a crossroads in my life again. I'm at a point where I'm not sure what to do. I have basically left my full time job that kept me secure for the past 7 years and ventured into a new job in hopes of gaining experience. I come to learn I really hate my new job but also don't want to go back to my old one especially with the management over there. But I'm also scared to look for a new job in the field I want because I have basically never been formally interviewed without any connection or networks my whole professional career. Basically without a clutch and having to go through that interview process again is just terrifying. So I'm scared what the future might hold basically. I can't keep sitting around but I feel myself doing just that. I don't know how to get the motivation to just do it. Being older now, I have bigger responsibilities so even more of a reason to just do it. Is anyone going through something similar?
