Hot take, maybe? But out of all the Zelda games that could be adapted into a movie, Skyward Sword would make the best film I'm so serious.
The current film being produced isn't an adaptation, as far as I know (if it is... what?), but if it WERE, it should have been sksw.
Oot and Botw are both good contenders as well, but out of those three, Sksw is absolutely the most theatrical. Plus, it's the starting point of the series chronologically.
Also I may or may not just want to see what an actor would look like dressed up as Ghirahim or Groose...
I'd expand upon how theatrical sksw is but I feeeel... my poooint... is useless... if I have to... convince... you...
I mean, it makes a LOT of sense based on how the game is played, cuz Sksw is a very linear game, there's not a lot of wiggle room to go to a lot of side quests or other stuff, and movies are nothing if not linear, everything is already pre-determined and on a line, like how Sksw is (fight me on this if you will but Skyward Sword is Linear at the end of the day no matter what you say /friendly)
And from a story point too, yeah, if they plan on making more Zelda movies (and let's face it, it's Nintendo, they're gonna make more Zelda movies), Sksw is a VERY good starting point, it sets up some of the major stuff like the cycle, Master Sword, the whole reincarnation of Hylia and Goddesses blood thing and the Triforce
