i NEED people to realise foreshadowing is. in fact. a literary device. and not a Bad Thing. the audience picking up on your hints is a Good Thing. because. it makes the story and it’s conclusion make sense. and some people will not see those but enjoy seeing them on a second read through. red herrings are one thing but if your novel consists of nothing but red herrings it’s not a coherent story it’s just a collection of paragraphs that don’t actually plausibly link to one another. you're not fighting with the audience you don’t look clever you look like you don’t know how basic fiction works. be vulnerable for once in your goddamn life and don't treat writing like a game to be won where the audience losing is a good thing.

Another problem is that non-binary people who may have a non-linear idea of transition are often lumped in with detrans people. For exmaple, someone who goes on HRT with a plan to stop when they get to a certain point. I've also seen some trans people who thought they were binary-trans realize later they were non-binary which changed their physical transition goals. The hate, bigotry, and misinformation surrounding non-binary people is a problem. Non-binary people are transgender! Being transgender does not require ANY physical intervention! This is a mistake and highlights the transmedicalism and toxic binary that plagues all our institutions (and even the queer community tom some extent).

i don’t think rumi would ever say “im going to kill myself” when upset but i DO think she says “somebody kill me” whenever mildly inconvenienced, which always slid by the radar pre-movie because it was never really that concerning of a statement to anyone. like setting up for an interview or something she accidentally fumbles with her mic a bit and drops it on the floor and mutters “ah somebody kill me” and everyone laughs it off. POST-movie however she drops a casual “ugh someone kill me” after forgetting something at the store and zoey and mira instantly snap their mouths shut and slowly rotate their heads toward her with horrified expressions and she frantically has to backtrack

i really like this thing where websites will have separate "log in" & "sign up" buttons and if you click "log in" it takes you to a sign-up screen anyway so you have to click "i already have an account" and then it will ask if you want to sign in with your facebook account or with instagram or linkedin or deviantart or whatever, and if you choose "username & password" it asks if you want to put in your username or use your thumbprint, and once you put your username & password it emails you a confirmation code, and once you put in the code it says "do you want to give us your phone number for future sign-ins? do you want to sign up for facial recognition? do you want to give us your bones? give us your fucking bones?

anyways, I'm still so angry over that Deadline article about Disney nuking Ncuti Gatwa's era of Doctor Who because of "woke" (not even kidding), because they received "overwhelming" feedback that the show was "too woke" for international audiences.
