Gifts Exchange Time is getting closer!! 💜🎨

We’re only less than a week away from the exchange itself!! Aren’t you excited?! I hope everyone’s gifts are almost ready if not already done! Can’t wait to see what everyone has created, it’s so exciting!!

• Please note that the tag for the event is #Precure Secret Exchange -with the spaces- (if you write it differently, “pretty cure” for example, we won’t be able to find your post) • If you’re not sure about how to proceed, a “how to” guide for posting your gift will be posted the day before the exchange, but you already can find these informations in the FAQ. • If you’re unsure about when to post/programm your gift because of time zones differences, a good way to make sure you’re on schedule is to post it withing the timeframe between Saturday noon/evening and Sunday morning. • If you happen to have any issue don’t hesitate to send an ask or pm! • On an earnest note, please remember that if you drop out without a message or good excuse you’ll be banned from future events. :(

I'd like to introduce you to yet another one my magical girl (aka mage) OCs! Her name is Arya! Arya is part of a team with Sofia and Amber. The trio are friends with and often interact with my main magical girl team.

Arya is outspoken, opinionated, and confident, although she secretly harbors a lot of self-doubts. She hates being alone and is always bugging her friends to hang out with her. In particular, she has a close but oftentimes adversarial relationship with Amber, her teammate. Basically, Arya is a tsundere who is too stubborn and clueless to admit to Amber that she has feelings for her, lol.

I modeled some of Arya's appearance and personality off of Rena Minami from Magia Record (matching how Amber was based on Kaede Akino). However, Arya has a blue morpho butterfly theme and is more outgoing than Rena. Speaking of her design, I also wanted glass to factor into it! If you look closely, many parts of her magical girl costume resemble stained glass.

A lot of academics are afraid to appeal or think that a rebuttal will just get sent back to the same reviewers, but any publisher worth their salt would send this to an advisory board member to adjudicate. It's shit that it needs to be done, because it creates work for authors AND editors and it slows everything down, but it is worth doing if you have a case! Do not let lazy fucks win and ruin your chances!

Do NOT be afraid to say:

- This comment is beyond the scope of the work presented, this work focuses on [x,y,z]

- These additional experiments are not relevant because [insert reason]

- I disagree with this point because [reason]

It's impossible for editors to be exact experts in every manuscript they handle, so rely on reviewers and authors. If there is a fundamental disagreement between author and reviewer, a good publishing house will ensure it is policy that board members are consulted for their expertise (this is what they are for!).

Peer review is a million miles from a perfect system, but good publishers do actually care about trying their best for authors and scientific integrity. I'm not going to pretend that there aren't a lot of dodgy publishing houses out there because there absolutely are, but it's worth pushing back if you get a bullshit report, because a good one WILL get an adjudicator.

Oh - and publishers do blacklist bad reviewers. They just need to know who the bad reviewers are.
